- Offense: Destruction of Bed (Repeat Offense)

- Status: Suspect located on scene, showing no remorse.

While the cat's away . . .

This week, K9 Gator's handler is away at a K9 Conference in Nashville. We've had the pleasure of taking care of K9 Gator all week. He's a joy to have around, but we think he make be getting a bit, how shall we say, spoiled? Pampered? Entitled? After his morning walk an breakfast, Ms. Mary came back to this. After a severe tongue lashing and significant disapproving looks, the floor was cleaned up and now Gator must sleep, at least for the short term, on the cold, hard floor. The last thing Ms. Mary said to Gator was the foreboding, "Just wait until you father gets home."

On this National Dog Day, we pause to remember and honor K9 Roki, a courageous dual-purpose K9 who faithfully served and protected our community.

Roki was more than a partner—he was family, a loyal protector, and a symbol of bravery. His dedication, sharp instincts, and unwavering service made a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working beside him.

Though K9 Roki passed away on 11-08-2024, his legacy of honor, service, and sacrifice lives on. Today, we celebrate his life, his service, and the countless lives he touched.

Meet the crew:

K9 Gator (Cpl Thelen)- Gator is a Black Lab trained in Narcotics Detection and Tracking. He enjoys all the scratches he can get, playing at home, and working. K9 Gator is a friendly face you may have seen him at a local event or on the street working. We thank K9 Gator and his Handler Cpl Thelen for all they do!

K9 Tyr (Ofc Rivera)- K9 Tyr is a Belgium Malinois and trained in Narcotics Detection, Tracking, and suspect Apprehension. K9 Tyr enjoys being brushed, swimming (for workouts), and tug. K9 Tyr is very friendly and enjoys working along side the Officers at St Marys Police Department, K9 Tyr and his partner Ofc Rivera enjoy what they do for the city and enjoy meeting the citizens. We thank K9 Tyr and his handler Ofc Rivera for all they do.
