The officers of the Hazelwood Police Department are proud to take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Missouri Special Olympics athletes.

Our team will be receiving the torch near Charbonier Road and continuing the run through Hazelwood as officers from departments across the region come together for this incredible cause.
We invite our community to come out and support the runners along the route. If you see us passing by, give a wave, honk your horn, and help cheer on the athletes and officers participating in this event. For everyone’s safety, please remain on sidewalks or nearby parking areas while watching.

Motorists should also expect temporary traffic delays between approximately 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., as portions of US 67 will be reduced to one lane during the event.

Thank you for supporting the Law Enforcement Torch Run and helping us raise awareness for Missouri Special Olympics.

The Hazelwood Police Department will be conducting an active shooter training exercise at the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, located at 7380 Howdershell Rd.

During this training, residents in the surrounding area may hear loud noises, including simulated gunfire. Please do not be alarmed, as this is only a training exercise, and there is no threat to the public.

This training is part of a broader active shooter preparedness program in partnership with local businesses and churches. Our goal is to enhance safety, improve response coordination, and promote community understanding in the event of an emergency situation.

We appreciate your awareness and support as we continue working to keep our community safe.

This week, we proudly recognize some dedicated professional first responders, our dispatchers.

During National Telecommunications Week, the Hazelwood Police Department honors the voices behind the badges. They are the unseen heroes who answer in moments of panic, provide life-saving instructions, and ensure our officers get where they need to be.

Your professionalism, compassion, and composure make a difference every single day.
Thank you for being the lifeline of our community.

The Hazelwood Police Department wants to make our community aware of a recent identity theft report involving an individual impersonating a police officer.

A resident was contacted by someone claiming to be a Hazelwood Police Sergeant who stated they were investigating bank fraud. The caller then requested personal and banking information. This was NOT a legitimate call.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Hazelwood Police officers will NEVER contact you by phone and ask for:

Banking or credit card information
Passwords or PINs
Payment of any kind (gift cards, wire transfers, etc.)

If you receive a call like this:

Do NOT provide any information;
Hang up immediately;
Contact the Hazelwood Police Department directly using a known, official phone number.

Scammers can manipulate caller ID to make it appear as though they are calling from a legitimate number. Always verify before trusting the caller.
If you believe you have been targeted or have already provided information, please contact us right away so we can assist you.

Stay alert and stay safe.

Your safety matters.

This weekend, the Hazelwood Police Department will be conducting a DWI checkpoint within city limits as part of our ongoing effort to prevent impaired driving and keep our community safe.

If you’re going out, make a plan:
Designate a sober driver
Use a ride-share
Call a friend

Let’s work together to make sure everyone gets home safely.
