The Mehlville School District mission is to build a high performing school system rooted in the community's desire to build a culture of improvement for staff and students. 5th graders in Ms. Mathews’ class reviewed division this week using a Building Thinking Classroom strategy. Students were given four division equations and had to decide which equation didn’t belong. Students collaborated, explained their thinking to each other, and realized sometimes there may be more than one right answer. It was awesome to see students learn from each other, take new perspectives in their math thinking, and help each other review division strategies.

Yesterday our 5th graders did team building! The challenge was to hold a block between each other using one finger and attempt different movements. This required them to work together and use good communication skills to be successful.

The Mehlville School District and the Oakville Chamber Of Commerce invite families of incoming early childhood and elementary school students to join us on Saturday for the Back-to-School Social!

Stop by Bernard Middle School (1054 Forder Road) from 9 a.m to 1 p.m. to meet new friends and school district staff, get ready for the 2026-2027 school year, explore offerings from area businesses, and enjoy a petting zoo and craft activities for kids! We hope to see you there! 💙
