We encourage everyone to engage respectfully and collaboratively. Services are provided to individuals of all ages with the following developmental disabilities: autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and an intellectual disability. Individuals must have been diagnosed with their developmental disability before the age of 18. Individuals are also eligible if they meet the functional definition of a developmental disability as determined by the St.

Missouri Medicaid participants may see changes to eligibility and verification related to federal H.R. 1 in the coming months.

The Missouri Department of Social Services is mailing notices to some participants now. If you receive one, read it carefully and follow any instructions.

You can also use the DSS screening tool to see if new eligibility requirements may apply to you beginning January 1, 2027.

It is also important to ensure your mailing address, phone number, and email address are current so you receive future information about your coverage.

Check out these upcoming opportunities from our funded partner, Gateway Down Syndrome Association.

On September 12 from 1:00–3:00 p.m., Gateway DSA is hosting a Back-to-School Teen Time in Brentwood. Teens can decorate binders, make stress balls, and enjoy other back-to-school crafts designed to help them start the school year feeling prepared and excited. Then, on September 15 from 12:00–1:00 p.m., Gateway DSA’s virtual Lunch & Learn will focus on Creating Positive Dental Experiences. Our funded partner, St. Louis Arc, is offering its fall Planning Forward Learning Series for parents and caregivers of adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities ages 27 and older.

This eight-week series helps families work through important questions that can come with planning for the future, including housing, legal and financial considerations, and conversations with others who may play a role in their family member’s life. Participants will explore topics across six life domains while connecting with other families navigating similar decisions.

We were glad to join our funded partner, Project CU, Inc., for a ribbon-cutting and celebration of the opening of its newly expanded clean room.

The project increases Project CU’s medical processing space by 65% and was made possible through support from the Missouri Department of Education Extended Employment Program and a $24,000 grant from DD Resources.

This expansion will help Project CU continue creating meaningful employment opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Today, DD Resources staff visited the Missouri History Museum to see firsthand several new accessibility improvements made possible through DD Resources funding.

An $18,000 grant supported the installation of a new universal changing table in the family restroom, along with accessible door openers in two additional restrooms, helping make the museum more welcoming and accessible for visitors of all abilities.

The Missouri History Museum is hosting a Sensory-Friendly Evening on Wednesday, September 2, from 5:00–7:30 p.m.

The evening is designed for individuals and families who benefit from a calmer, more sensory-friendly museum experience. Reduced noise, smaller crowds and other accommodations can help make it easier for visitors with autism, sensory-processing differences, developmental or intellectual disabilities, anxiety, ADHD, neurological conditions, or dementia to explore and enjoy the museum.

Families and caregivers are welcome to attend and experience the museum together in a more comfortable setting.
