This recognition means so much to our Bierbaum family. To be selected as a PLC Model School, a school must demonstrate three consecutive years of growth. I am proud to report that Bierbaum has shown steady, sustained growth in every year coming out of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Collaboration is truly the heart of this work. While we are the largest elementary school in the Mehlville School District, with a lot of moving parts, our staff has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to not only working hard, but working hard together. I have had the privilege of working at many schools throughout my career, and I can say without hesitation that no staff works better together than the staff at Bierbaum.
This honor belongs to every teacher, support staff member, student, and family who has committed to the belief that learning never stops. Thank you for making Bierbaum an extraordinary place.

Bierbaum Elementary School was recognized by Solution Tree for its sustained success in raising student achievement. The school’s successful implementation of the Professional Learning Communities at Work process was a major contributing factor in the improved achievement of its students.
Model PLCs at Work are schools where educators recognize the key to improved learning for students is ongoing, job-embedded learning for the adults who serve those students. PLCs focus on learning, building collaborative cultures and creating results.
Bierbaum Elementary School is one of just 600 schools in the United States and Canada to earn this honor. Schools are recognized based on strict criteria, including demonstration of a commitment to PLC concepts, implementation of these concepts for at least three years and clear evidence of improved student learning.
Congratulations to the Bierbaum community on this awesome honor! 💙
