Honoring Juneteenth: Freedom, Justice, and Our Shared Future

On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved people in the United States learned of their freedom, marking a powerful turning point in history.

Today, the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, Inc. - Metropolitan St. Louis Chapter honor Juneteenth as a celebration of liberation, resilience, and the enduring pursuit of justice.

Freedom is our legacy.
Justice is our commitment.
The future is ours.

We take this day to reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us, to celebrate the strength and contributions that continue to shape our communities, and to reaffirm our dedication to equity and progress.

We honor the past.
We celebrate the present.
We continue the work.

Because freedom is not just history—it is a mission we carry forward every day.

✨ We are so proud to bring this year’s Changed by Design program to a close. Witnessing young girls who once walked in shy or struggling in school now rise with confidence and grace—transforming into beautiful butterflies—has truly filled our hearts. ✨

This journey was all about empowering young girls with the tools, confidence, and skills they need to thrive. Through mentorship and hands-on learning, we’ve introduced programs focused on personal finance, entrepreneurship, hygiene education, voting awareness, etiquette, social media safety, and so much more.

From cupcake and strawberry decoration 🍓🧁 to real-life lessons that build independence and leadership, every moment was designed to inspire growth. Most importantly, we are nurturing strong social skills, confidence, and healthy peer relationships—because how you show up in the world matters.

We are changed by purpose, and we are Changed by Design 💖

The future is bright, and these young girls are just getting started!
