Today we recognize and celebrate the immeasurable and impactful contributions of the Warrant Officer Corps to the Army and Army Aviation.

The U.S. Army Warrant Officer Corps was established 108 years ago on July 9, 1918 as part of the U.S. Army Mine Planter Service. 22 years ago on this date in 2004, Army Warrant Officers were authorized to wear Army Officer Branch insignia and branch colors as a uniform change. That same message also established the new Chief Warrant Officer Five rank insignia.

Our Aviation Warrant Officers continue to be the indispensable and irreplaceable skilled leader technicians that provide commanders with significant contributions to our Army's warfighting capabilities. Their professionalism, expertise, and performance have enabled Army Aviation to build and solidify the bond of trust and confidence with the Army Combat, Combat Support, and Combat Service Support branches, so critical to our success as an Army.

All of us at AAAA thank you for everything you do for our Branch and our Army, and salute you and your families for your continued service!

Above the Best!

Walter M. Golden Jr.
Major General, U.S. Army (Retired)
37th President, AAAA
