We need everyone to read this one carefully.

A veteran who served this country honorably for 6 years depends on VA mental health medication and therapy to stay alive. They are not being dramatic. There is a real chance they could cost them their lives.

Doug Collins is the Secretary of Veterans Affairs.

This is happening on his watch.

Trump signed the orders that set it in motion. Project 2025 outlined the cuts now being executed.

There is a direct line between policy decisions made in Washington and this veteran's life.

We are drawing that line.

Britini Cuington is an Air Force veteran and the Texas Lead Organizer at Common Defense, a national, member-led organization of veterans organizing for accountability and justice. In 2025, she led Black and Latino veterans to Ciudad Juárez to meet with deported U.S. veterans–bringing national attention to a largely invisible issue and ensuring those directly impacted were centered and heard. Cuington continues to train and support veterans as organizers, fostering a strong, values-driven community that advances justice and civic engagement.

If Abbott and Trump had popular policies, they wouldn’t need this desperate redistricting scheme.

Executive Vice President for Communications Workers of America Local 6215 and proud United States Marine Corps veteran David Marshall testified in Austin against this sham.

Maine veterans showed up outside Senator Susan Collins' Portland office this weekend with 168 lunchboxes, one for each schoolgirl killed in the Minab school bombing, and 13 portraits memorializing the 13 American servicemembers killed in the war in Iran.

We know what war costs. And we are done being silent while politicians stay quiet about a conflict that is taking lives and draining the resources our communities desperately need.
Instead of $87 billion for this war, that money could fund the VA for 18 years. It could feed 57% of SNAP recipients. It could put 500,000 teachers in classrooms.

Senator Collins was forced to go on record supporting peace negotiations on a topic she would much rather have stayed silent on. That is what happens when veterans show up and refuse to be ignored.

Thank you to Veterans for Peace for standing with us. This is the coalition that builds real power.

Common Defense deployed our first Maine QRF this weekend alongside Veterans for Peace, training local veterans in organizing, protest safety, and public speaking. Three of them spoke at a press conference for the first time. This is how we build for the long haul.

No more forever wars.

Veterans don't put on the uniform to watch democracy get sold off to the highest bidder.

Alex Vindman risked his career to tell the truth about an abuse of power, and now he's running for U.S. Senate to make sure Florida families come before corporate donors and political insiders.

Common Defense is proud to endorse Alex Vindman. Florida deserves a senator who defends the Constitution and stands up for veterans, military families, and working people.

Dan Osborn put on the uniform, came home, and kept fighting, this time on the factory floor against one of the largest food corporations in the country, and he won.

That's the backbone Nebraska needs in the Senate.

Common Defense is proud to endorse Dan Osborn for U.S. Senate.

Working veterans deserve a senator who knows what it means to fight for people, not corporate power.

On Women Veterans Day, we recognize the women who raised their right hand and served, and we recommit to the promise this country made to them.

That promise is under threat. The VA has lost thousands of nurses. Mental health wait times are exceeding recommended standards. The 2022 reproductive health rule, which gave women veterans access to abortion care in limited circumstances, has been rescinded.

Women veterans deserve better. Common Defense is fighting to stop VA privatization, restore staffing levels, and protect the full spectrum of care that women veterans have earned.

Tag a woman veteran you want to honor today.

On three separate occasions, this veteran built a relationship with a VA provider -- only to lose them.

Forced out. Burned out. Gone.

This is not a coincidence.

Under Doug Collins and the Trump administration, VA providers are leaving at a rate the system cannot sustain.

Project 2025 specifically targeted the federal workforce, and the VA is one of the casualties.

The veterans who depend on continuity of care, especially for mental health, are the ones absorbing that hit.
