At 10:14 am on September 1st, St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to commercial alarms ringing in the RM of Prince Albert. Dispatch notified the department of a false alarm soon after being dispatched.

At 2:26 am on September 1st, St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a tractor fire in the Village of St. Louis. The Fire Chief arrived on scene to find a tractor fully involved near a garage on a residential yard site.

The homeowner and the Fire Chief used a garden hose and a 20‑lb fire extinguisher to cool the area and prevent the fire from spreading to the garage. Upon arrival, department members were able to fully extinguish the tractor fire before the garage ignited.

The tractor was determined to be a total loss. RCMP attended the scene, and no injuries were reported.

Once the fire was extinguished and the scene was made safe, members returned to the hall and prepared equipment for future service.

At 2:59 am on Aug. 30th, St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a single pickup truck rollover with possible entrapment and ejection near Domremy off Highway #2.

Members arrived on scene to find a pickup truck resting on its side. One male patient was already in the care of EMS. No other occupants were located at the vehicle. Witnesses advised a female had left the scene. RCMP was advised before their arrival that a female occupant had reportedly left the scene prior to arrival.

Due to the presence of standing crop and limited visibility, the department deployed its thermal drone to conduct an aerial search of the surrounding area for any additional persons. No individuals were located. Unit #4 conducted a ground search of the nearby area and the hamlet for the missing female; she was not found during initial operations.

RCMP arrived on scene and continued their investigation. A female occupant was later located unharmed.

Fire Department members stabilized the vehicle and assisted with scene cleanup. The truck was pushed back upright to allow for safe towing operations. Once hazards were mitigated and the scene was cleared, members were released and returned to the hall to prepare equipment for future service.

August 20, 2026 – Time: 9:59 am

St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched for a report of a vehicle in the ditch with injuries south of Hoey on Highway #2.

Upon arrival, members located one adult female inside her vehicle. The driver had driven in and back out of the ditch and was complaining of injuries. Fire Department members assessed the scene and provided initial support until EMS arrived.

Wakaw EMS arrived and assumed patient care, conducting further assessment and transporting the patient to Prince Albert for additional medical treatment. RCMP arrived on scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.

Fire Department members established and maintained traffic control to ensure responder and public safety. Members remained on scene while towing operations were conducted and continued to monitor and secure the area throughout the recovery.

Once towing was completed, members cleared the scene and returned to the hall, restoring apparatus and equipment to service for future calls.

At 9:42 a.m. on August 8, 2026, the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a motorcycle in a slough approximately one mile north of Domremy on Highway #2.

Upon arrival, the Fire Chief located a male who had already been removed from the water by bystanders. Fire Department members immediately began CPR, continuing lifesaving efforts until EMS arrived. Wakaw EMS, RCMP, and STARS subsequently attended the scene.

Despite the combined efforts of bystanders and all responding agencies, lifesaving measures were unfortunately unsuccessful. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family during this difficult time.

We would like to recognize and thank the bystanders for their quick actions, as well as our partners Wakaw EMS, STARS, and the RCMP for their support and professionalism.

After the scene was cleared, members returned to the hall to prepared for future service.

July 5, 2026

St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched at 4:32 pm for a report of a Semi that had gone into the ditch with unknown entrapment or injuries south of Red Deer Hill road on Highway #2 in the R.M. of Prince Albert.

Upon arrival, the Fire Chief located one adult male on the highway being assisted by bystanders. The patient was conscious and being cared for while awaiting EMS. EMS arrived shortly thereafter, assumed patient care, and transported the individual to Prince Albert for further assessment.

RCMP arrived on scene and initiated an investigation. The semi was found upright in water and presented no immediate fire or environmental hazards.

Due to the position of the vehicle and the requirements of heavy tow operations, both lanes were needed to safely remove the semi and trailer. Fire Department members established and maintained traffic control throughout the duration of the recovery to ensure scene safety for responders, tow operators, and the public.

Once tow operations were completed, members cleared the scene and returned to the hall, restoring apparatus and equipment to service.

At 03:31 a.m. on July 30, the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched for alarms ringing in the Village of St. Louis. While members were en route, dispatch cancelled the call, and responding personnel were stood down and returned home.

At approximately 6:15 pm on July 9, 2026, the St. Louis Fire Department was dispatched for alarms ringing within the R.M. of St. Louis. While en route, the Deputy Fire Chief contacted the keyholder for the premises to determine the status of the alarm.

After speaking with the keyholder, it was confirmed that the alarm activation was accidental and there was no emergency present. Based on this information, all responding members were stood down while en route.

No hazards were found, no emergency response was required, and the call was formally terminated.

June 29 – Fire Hall Visit & Donation

The Fire Chief was pleased to welcome two employees from Tiger Hills Outfitting for a tour of our new fire hall and to receive a generous $500 donation to the St. Louis Fire Department.

Both Cole Tait and Jarrett Trumier have volunteered with the St. Louis Fire Department in the past and understand firsthand the challenges that small rural departments face. Their continued support and connection to our community mean a great deal to us.
