A heartfelt thank you to Mike's on the Water for this opportunity; donations made for visiting the museum in May totaled to $2,718.90. 🤩 We really enjoyed interacting with patrons at the museum and building more awareness on our group that supports our amazing SCS Library!! ☀️

📖 The Friends Evening Book Discussion enjoyed a change of scenery tonight discussing The Berry Pickers by Amanda Peters at the Snoopy Museum!

📢 We will be transitioning this evening book discussion to a library program that will resume in August and on Monday evenings at the library. Check the library website for future announcements. If you want to get a head start on the August book for discussion, we will be reading Under the Whispering Door by TJ Klune.

Thanks again to everyone who has participated thus far in these evening discussions, we have really had some great dialogue. 📚

⛵️ We thoroughly enjoyed Devin Scillian’s presentation this evening following our annual meeting. His talk was both inspiring and emotionally moving, reminding us of the powerful impact a good book can have.

Some of the highlights that Doreen (President) shared included:

📚 We will continue to fund annually the Hot Spots, Patron Copier, Self Checkout Equipment, Overdrive (Libby and Hoopla), Adult/Youth Services Expenses, and 'Inside the Library' Newsletter.

🎉 Funding the board has approved associated with the renovation includes a $10,000 donation towards expenses, a new self checkout, a soon to be installed Drop Box ($6,800) and a new sound and audio visual system for the large meeting/programming room.

We are excited to move onto our new 2026-2027 year of continuing to fundraise in the community to support our library. Come chat with us at our next event, provide feedback/ideas, or consider joining the Board within this next year!
