The flooding of our parks along the Missouri River this year has left much damage Parks and Recreation Staff are in the process of restoring. Although Frontier Park was returning to what appeared to be a green state of turf, the weeds had taken over as the prolonged flood waters killed all the grass. Those weeds have been sprayed and we are in the process of tilling the park and leveling the ground from the sediment left behind. In the coming weeks, Staff will be addressing ongoing drainage issues, placing geogrid in areas along the trails, aerating, seeding and fertilizing. Landscaping and trees lost to the flooding will also be replaced.

As we work in the coming weeks to re-establish Frontier Park, we ask that visitors remain on the trails avoiding the turf areas throughout the various stages of restoration. We appreciate everyone's patience as we restore Frontier Park to the signature icon everyone expects in downtown St. Charles. We will return stronger than ever!

Events held in Frontier Park for the 2019 season have all been relocated within the area close to Main Street. To find out more details about specific events please visit the organization's page or website.

Effective 6/27/19 Frontier Park and the KATY Trail have reopened to the public.

We are asking everyone to stay on the trails and refrain from walking on the grass as the ground is still saturated with water which will cause additional damage. Over the next few weeks as the river level continues to drop Parks staff will continue the turf grass restoration. We thank everyone for your continued patience and understanding, we know how special this park is and we are eager and working hard to get it back up and fully open for use.

Park conditions are evaluated daily based on weather and river forecasts. Don't underestimate the power of water. Please use caution and heed any closure or warnings signs.
