APRIL home maintenance checklist: 1. Examine smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and change batteries if necessary. 2.
Run the sprinkler system to make sure it’s operating properly. 3.
Clean garbage disposal by grinding up two trays of ice cubes made up of one cup white vinegar and in up to a gallon of water. 4.
Check water softener and clean if necessary.

DECEMBER HOME MAINTENANCE CHECKLIST: 1) Dust or vacuum bathroom fan grilles and smoke detectors. 2) Check gauges on all fire extinguishers. 3) Reapply grout sealer to tile grout. 4) Examine and clean kitchen appliances. Clean dishwasher food filters, and check that openings in spray arms are clear.

Inspect and clean fireplace flue before the first fire. Make sure the chimney is clear of debris and nests. 3. Check water heater for leaks, and insulate outdoor pipes.

AUGUST HOME MAINTENANCE TO-DO CHECKLIST: 1. Repair minor brick and mortar cracks 3. Add attic insulation if needed 4. Clean windows. If they stick, clean the tracks in which the sash slides with a mild detergent. Lubricate with silicone spray if the window drags.

Make a note of any areas that need to be watched, re-caulked, etc... 2.Tighten up loose screws on your cabinet drawer pulls, doors and doorknobs. 3. Vacuum or wipe off your vent covers, under the refrigerator, the refrigerator coils, light bulbs, the ceiling fan housing and blades.

Inspect home exterior for signs of sun damage.
