The Foust family is praying for the Shipman family. We have known each other for years and always enjoyed catching up at Music on Main and the Beale Street concert series.

Scott Shipman truly wanted to get back in the game and help move the City of St. Charles forward in a positive and responsible way. He was excited, engaged, and it was refreshing to see that type of energy and passion on Council.

Not only would Ward 4 have been well represented, but Ward 6 and the City as a whole would have benefited from his leadership, experience, and love for the community.

Scott, you will be missed. We are thinking of Chris and the entire Shipman family during this difficult time. 🙏

The City of St. Charles is saddened to learn of the passing of Councilmember Scott Shipman.

A dedicated public servant, Councilmember Shipman served the community for many years as St. Charles County Assessor and most recently as a member of the St. Charles City Council.

Throughout his years of public service, he earned the respect of colleagues and residents alike through his deep understanding of the community, thoughtful leadership, and genuine care for the people of St. Charles.

On behalf of the Mayor, City Council and City staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, Chris, their children, and the entire Shipman family during this difficult time.

Councilmember Shipman’s commitment to public service and lasting impact on the St. Charles community will be remembered throughout the region.

In accordance with the City Charter, Mayor Dan Borgmeyer will appoint an interim Ward 4 councilmember to serve until a special election can be held in November. The St. Charles City Council will consider a resolution on June 2 to formally place the special election on the November ballot.

Thank you Senator Nick Schroer for having me on last week’s St. Charles Patriot Radio.

Please check out our segment from the beginning through the 14:30 mark. I appreciated the opportunity to share my thoughts on the process and the decision.

At the end of the day, I have not lost one ounce of sleep over the Council’s decision.

Have a great week, everyone. Leadership requires smart, principled people who are willing to make tough decisions, even when they’re not easy. I’m honored to serve and represent Ward 6 and the City of St. Charles.

Appreciate Senator Nick Schroer for inviting me on to talk about the City of St. Charles and the recent data center decision.

I usually pass on most TV and radio interviews because I’m not interested in grandstanding or building a profile off controversy. But I felt this was a good opportunity for a real, casual conversation about the decision, the process, and what we believe is best for our community.

Here’s a small teaser from our conversation, full show drops this Sunday.

What an incredible night recognizing some outstanding young people in our community. I had the pleasure of nominating both Immanuel Lutheran- St. Charles basketball team and Lexi Johnson for the City of St. Charles Superstar Award.

First, congratulations to the Immanuel Lutheran team on an unbelievable season and National Championship run. Watching this group compete, represent their school, and carry themselves with class has been special. These young men showed what hard work, teamwork, discipline, and leadership look like.

I especially want to give a shoutout to Luke Wegan, Lucas and Reid Copeland (the twins). I had the honor of coaching some of these guys in SCW feeder basketball years ago, and seeing them continue to grow into talented athletes and even better young men makes me incredibly proud. The future is bright for all of them.

I also want to give a shout out to my man Wesley Copeland, he will most likely be the top basketball player in this area and he will let his brothers know along the way 😜.

And then there is Lexi Johnson… absolutely making history. A 4-time state medalist, state champion, and now signed to wrestle at Missouri Baptist University. Lexi has helped put SCW wrestling back on the map and has become a role model for so many young athletes in our community. What she has accomplished, especially as one of the top female wrestlers to ever come through St. Charles is truly remarkable.

Nights like this are what make St. Charles special. Celebrating young people who are putting in the work, representing their schools the right way, and making our community proud.

The future of St. Charles is in good hands!

A few months ago, I had the opportunity to sit down for lunch with Matt Frkovic and learn more about both his career in law enforcement and the mission behind The 10-78 Project . After that conversation, it became even more clear how important it is to support the men and women who serve our communities every single day.

While I was unfortunately out of town and unable to attend the official signing ceremony, I still wanted to recognize this important partnership between the City of St. Charles and The 10-78 Project. This agreement will help provide immediate assistance and support to our law enforcement officers and first responders involved in critical incidents.

As conversations around mental health continue to grow, we must also recognize the emotional weight first responders carry while helping people through some of the hardest moments of their lives. This partnership will provide officers and their families with support, resources, and guidance during those difficult times.

I’m proud that the City of St. Charles continues to lead by supporting our police officers and first responders not only while they serve, but also after the difficult calls are over.

Our police officers are an incredible asset to this community, and they deserve to know their city stands behind them.

Honored to be unanimously elected by my peers to serve as Vice President of the St. Charles City Council. I truly appreciate the trust and confidence from my fellow Council Members.

Pretty cool moment for our City too, both Council President Mark Hollander and I were born and raised in St. Charles. One of us is a proud St. Charles West grad, the other is St. Charles High. And if you were born at SSM St. Joseph Hospital… you’re officially a real one 😂

All jokes aside, I’m proud to continue serving this community that shaped both of us. St. Charles has a strong history, great people, and a bright future ahead. Looking forward to working alongside Mark and the entire Council as we keep moving our City forward.

FOUST FORWARD™ Business Spotlight 🌸

FOUST FORWARD™ to supporting local businesses, community partnerships, and the people helping make Saint Charles a destination.

Later today I’m headed to Narwhal's Crafted to enjoy the weather and try some of their new seasonal mixes and this Mother’s Day lineup looks outstanding. 🍓🥂

Their Strawberry Hibiscus Frosé and Mother’s Day Bouquet Flight are available for a limited time and look like the perfect weekend stop with family or friends.

I’ve had the pleasure of working closely with the Narwhal’s team through Saint Charles Oktoberfest, where they help operate one of the largest non-premise events they participate in anywhere. Their team consistently brings creativity, energy, and a strong commitment to community partnerships.

If you’ve visited Narwhal’s before, drop your favorite flavor in the comments and show them some local love.

FOUST FORWARD™ continues promoting small business growth, local entertainment, community partnerships, and civic engagement throughout Saint Charles.
