Ever wanted to learn American Sign Language (ASL)? Experience authentic language and Deaf culture from a native signer at Merit Academy!

We offer ASL 1 for beginners and ASL 2 for skill expansion. Build a deeper understanding of Deaf culture and the confidence to communicate.

Homeschool families, use your Utah Fits All (UFA) scholarship, as we are UFA approved! Visit meritacademy.org to learn more and to enroll.

Whether you want to learn fresh skills, refine your technique, or just find a fun way to get active, we've got a class for you:

Yoga: Find your flow, stretch out the stress, and earn a PE credit while doing it!

Contemporary Technique: Express yourself, build strength, and take your movement skills to the next level.

Hip Hop: Bring the energy, learn dynamic choreography, and master new styles in a fun, supportive environment. It's a PE or Art Credit too!

Congratulations to our August Teacher of the Month, Maria Ruf. We love our teachers at Merit and want you to get to know and love them too.

"I graduated from BYU with a degree in Educational Psychology. I am getting a master's in Curriculum Design and Instruction. I teach Special Education English, Reading, and Study Skills. I love teaching because I love having conversations with teenagers. I like to give them a predictable, safe space to figure things out. I like to help them realize what they are good at, and that they have influence through their kindness. I love helping them realize that they have power over their own decisions and their own happiness. I love helping them realize that there is a whole world out there after high school, and they can be successful in it. We have so many good kids at Merit! We are so lucky!"

Congratulations to our August Staff of the Month Mrs. Amy Evans. Read below to get to know our new Administrative Secretary.

"Hi everyone! I’m Amy Evans, and I am so excited to step into my new role as administrative secretary at Merit this year.

I graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies. At home, I'm married and a proud mom to five wonderful kids, plus one amazing grandchild!

I truly love working at Merit, especially getting to interact with our students every day. I know firsthand how tough it can be just to get up and get to school sometimes, so I try to be in their corner cheering them on as much as I can.

When I’m not busy at the front desk, you can usually find me out at the ballpark watching my kids play baseball, softball, or soccer, or cheering on my daughter at her dance events. Whenever we get a free moment, I love rafting, hiking, and soaking up the sunshine.

I’m looking forward to a fantastic school year ahead with all of you!"
