5678 Dance & More
🪩 In 2005, the Clark Family could never have imagined what was to come when a friend told Shalita about a space for rent from Mrs. Nancy Nolin. After she and her husband, Bobby, looked at the space and spent much time in prayer, they knew the Lord was leading them to Springville. The space, which is currently Meals by Misty, would become the first home of 5678 Dance & More. One year later, they rented an additional space, which is now The Ole Post Office, and remained in both spaces for five years before moving to the current studio home, next to the space formerly occupied by ONEeighty Church.
21 years later, the Clark Family is so thankful for the many families that have been a part of their little studio! From the amazing staff to students and parents, there are so many people who quickly became friends, and even some who feel like additional family members. They love meeting new people each year and welcoming back those who return.
💃 5678 Dance & More is a recreational studio that focuses on deepening the knowledge of dance and music, without total focus on competition. Our teachers strive to teach dance, voice, and piano to the children in a loving, Christ-centered atmosphere. It is important to us that the children learn dance and music, but it is also important that they have fun and enjoy what they do. We hope each student walks away with more confidence, higher self-esteem, knowing they are loved, and a deeper appreciation for both dance and music.
🩰 All three of Bobby & Shalita’s daughters were students at 5678 Dance & More through their senior years of high school. Danay, the oldest, is a nurse practitioner but never misses a rehearsal or recital and participates in as many studio events as possible, along with her husband, Kyle. Jacey Grace and Ella Kate, in addition to attending college, have chosen to continue their dance careers by sharing their love of dance with the many students they currently teach.
“One of the sweetest studio moments,” says Shalita, “happened just a couple of weeks ago. We conclude each recital with a dance entitled, If My Friends Could See Me Now, which includes teachers, advanced tappers, and former students. I was a little sad because for 28 years, I have had the privilege of teaching my girls, and this year, for the first time, none of them were students. But when it was time for the closing, and all three of our girls were standing beside me, the sadness was quickly replaced with JOY!”
⭐️ 5678 Dance & More is thankful for the opportunity the studio has been given to connect with Springville. Partnering with the local pageants, cheerleaders, ball teams, school choir, and even being “a mystery reader” are just additional blessings the studio and Ms. Shalita have been given, which she hopes continue for years to come. She continues to say year after year how thankful she is for “the little studio God placed in Springville, Alabama, 21 years ago!”
