Today, we recognize and celebrate all of the mothers in our community and within the fire service family.

To the moms who respond to emergencies, support their families through long shifts and missed holidays, and the mothers who are always there behind the scenes supporting those who serve — thank you.

Your strength, sacrifice, patience, and love do not go unnoticed.

At 3:37 a.m. on April 12, 2026, your Springville Firefighters were dispatched to a commercial fire alarm in the 300 block of N 2000 West in Springville. While crews were responding, additional 911 callers reported smoke and flames showing, and the incident was balanced to a commercial structure fire.

First-arriving crews found smoke and fire coming from one commercial unit and determined the fire involved a vehicle located inside the building. Firefighters from Springville Fire & Rescue, Provo Fire & Rescue, Mapleton City Fire Department, and Spanish Fork Fire & EMS worked aggressively to extinguish the fire and contain it to the unit of origin.

Crews achieved a quick knockdown and remained on scene for approximately two hours completing overhaul. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported.

Although this winter season has been an unusual one, with a lack of colder temperatures and snowfall, your Springville Firefighters recently completed Ice Rescue Training. All Springville Firefighters are required to be certified to the Ice Rescue Technician level. This certification ensures our firefighters have the knowledge and specialized skills needed to safely operate on and enter frozen waters in the event that a person or animal becomes trapped in or on the ice.

Firefighters from Spanish Fork Fire & EMS also participated in the training, which was instructed by Elite Technical Rescue Training LLC. We appreciate the opportunity to train alongside our neighboring agency and the expertise provided by Elite Technical Rescue Training to help ensure our crews remain prepared for these low-frequency but high-risk rescue situations.

The firehouse kitchen table is more than furniture. It’s the heart of the station.

It’s where morning muster happens, where calls get picked apart, and where real learning takes place. Long before formal classrooms and online modules, knowledge was passed down across that table — one story at a time.

It’s also where the world’s problems get solved. Between coffee refills and late-night meals, you’ll hear debates about politics, sports, tactics, and life. Some of it serious, some of it nonsense — but all of it building trust.

The stories get better every time they’re told. The jokes get a little darker after 2200. After tough calls, it’s where crews decompress, check on each other, and reset before the next alarm.

Some say it’s where rank fades. Captains, engineers, and rookies all sit in the same chairs. Around that table, titles matter less. What matters is trust.

You may respond to calls as a crew, but you become a family at the table.

We’d like to give a huge thank you to Preferred Fire Protection for their work on our new firehouse kitchen table.

They generously donated the powder-coated pipe and couplers for the custom legs, along with completing the custom installation at the station. The craftsmanship and attention to detail show, and the finished product looks outstanding.

We truly appreciate the support and the hard work that went into making this table something special for our firefighters.

Thank you for investing in the people who serve this community.

Today marks the final day of training in the former Allen’s building at 400 South Main. Over the past week, your Springville Firefighters have had the opportunity to practice vertical ventilation—the process of cutting large openings in a roof to create a “chimney” effect. This technique is used to release superheated gases and toxic smoke, improving conditions for victim survivability while increasing visibility and safety for crews operating inside.

Additional training focused on forcible entry techniques to gain access to occupied structures quickly and efficiently.

Springville Firefighters are grateful to Clyde Companies for the opportunity to utilize this building prior to its demolition. Partnerships like these provide invaluable, realistic training that directly benefits the safety of our community and our responders.
