☀️ Summer in Springtown starts next week, and we are ready!

Looking for ways to keep the family busy this summer? Our Summer Starts Here guide includes farmers markets, Food Truck Fridays, free library and museum programs, STEM activities, the Summer Reading Challenge, First Responders Camp, community events, and our annual Star-Spangled Bash on July 4.

Best of all, most City of Springtown events are FREE to attend. While some events feature food trucks, vendors, and market booths with items available for purchase, there are plenty of opportunities all summer long to have fun without spending a dime.

Something exciting is taking shape at the Springtown Public Library.

Work officially began yesterday on a new mural that will transform the south wall of the library into a vibrant community landmark. While it's still in the early stages, we couldn't resist sharing a sneak peek of the project as it comes to life!

This mural is part of a broader effort to enhance the library's exterior and surrounding landscape, made possible through a direct allocation approved by the City of Springtown City Council as part of the Fiscal Year 2025–2026 Budget. These improvements reflect the City's continued commitment to investing in community spaces that inspire, connect, and serve our residents.

We are incredibly excited to watch this artwork develop and can't wait for the community to see the finished piece.

Stay tuned for progress updates and a reveal of the completed mural in the coming weeks!

At the May 28, 2026, City Council meeting, Councilmember Place 1 Ted Martinez, Councilmember Place 3 David Martin, and Councilmember Place 5 Scott Richardson were officially sworn in to new two-year terms that will expire in May 2028.

All three officials were unopposed incumbents in the 2026 General Election.

Councilmember Ted Martinez was originally appointed to the City Council in September 2019 to fill the unexpired term of Annette Burk. Since then, he has been elected to full terms in 2020, 2022, 2024, and 2026. He served as Mayor Pro Tem from May 2024 to May 2025. In addition to his current council service, Martinez has contributed to the community through numerous leadership roles, including service on the Planning and Zoning Commission, Zoning Board of Adjustments, Parks Master Plan Steering Committee, Capital Improvements Advisory Committee, and multiple Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committees. He also previously served on the City Council in the late 1990s.

Councilmember David Martin is beginning his second term after first being elected in 2024 and re-elected in 2026. He currently serves as the City Council's representative on the Animal Shelter Advisory Board and is one of two elected officials serving on the City's Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee, alongside Mayor Mike Kelley.

Councilmember Scott Richardson was first elected to the City Council in 2022 and was subsequently re-elected in 2024 and 2026. Before joining the Council, Richardson served the City as a member and later chairman of the Planning and Zoning Commission, participated on the Parks Master Plan Steering Committee, and represented the City Council on legislative matters as its legislative delegate.

Also during the meeting, Place 4 Councilmember Walter Roberson was reappointed as Mayor Pro Tem. In this role, he will serve in the Mayor's absence and assume mayoral duties when necessary.

Please join us in congratulating these dedicated public servants as they continue their service to the community.

The next City Council General Election will be held in May 2027 for the offices of Mayor, Place 2, and Place 4. Candidate filing for that election will open in January 2027.
