🌟 Springhill City Council – Community Recap (May 2026)
Springhill, here’s what your City Council has been working on to keep our community moving forward:
🙏 Starting with Gratitude Mayor Pro Tem Nicole Frazier opened with prayer, and Mayor Huddleston led the Pledge as we came together to focus on what’s best for our city.
📄 Keeping Business Transparent Council unanimously approved the April 13 minutes and the April 2026 financials — keeping our operations open and accountable to the community.
🧹 Main Street Momentum Our Main Street district continues to shine:
• Volunteers, businesses, and city crews teamed up for a successful Keep Louisiana Beautiful cleanup. Springhill pride on full display.
• The May Farmer’s Market was packed — quilting show, vendors, families, and neighbors supporting neighbors.
• June 6 Market will bring a Taste of Market event with food and family fun.
• A Matching Grant Program opens in June to help local Main Street businesses grow.
• A $255,225 DOT TAP Grant will improve walkability and parking downtown — construction begins this summer.
• Debo’s Corner is officially open and already a community favorite.
💰 Investing in Springhill’s Future
• The FY 2026–2027 Operating Budget was introduced, with workshops coming soon so we can plan responsibly for the year ahead.
• April bills totaling $173,805.03 were approved.
📢 Community Announcements
• The Splash Pad is up and running — sod installation coming soon to keep the area clean and safe. Opening June 6, 2026.
• June Anthony Drive repairs are moving along and reopening soon.
• Champions of Character, a free youth event hosted by Charcandrick West, is set for May 28 at the CAC.

o Focus on integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership
• Rob Pelzer begins as the new Hospital CEO on May 18 — a big step for local healthcare.
