A Tribute to Archie Ford – 22 Years of Service

Today, we celebrate an incredible man, a true servant leader, and a champion for veterans—Archie Ford.

After 22 years as the Salvation Army Outreach Coordinator, Archie is beginning a well-earned retirement. While retirement is often described as the end of a chapter, it’s impossible to put into words the impact Archie has had on our community and the countless lives he has touched along the way.

For many veterans, Archie wasn’t just a resource—he was a lifeline. He showed up when people had nowhere else to turn. He listened without judgment, gave without hesitation, and worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure veterans and their families received the support they needed. His compassion, humility, and unwavering dedication have quite literally saved lives.

For those of us at the Veterans Assistance Commission and the Veteran Service Officers who had the privilege of working alongside him, Archie was more than a partner. He was a trusted friend, an advocate, a problem-solver, and a constant source of support. No matter the challenge, Archie always found a way to help.

There is no replacing Archie Ford. His shoes simply cannot be filled. The relationships he built, the hope he provided, and the legacy he leaves behind will continue to impact our veterans for years to come.

Archie, thank you for every phone call answered, every hand extended, every veteran encouraged, and every life changed. Thank you for showing us what selfless service truly looks like.

You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in the hearts of the veterans, families, and colleagues who were fortunate enough to know you.

Congratulations on your retirement, Archie. You have earned it, and we are all better because of you.

❤️🇺🇸 Fair winds and following seas, my friend. Thank you for 22 years of extraordinary service. 🇺🇸❤️
