Register your children for Acting, Improv, Public Speaking, Reading Enrichment, and Balloon Sculpting classes at the Chisholm Community Center in Springfield, New Jersey - Union County, taught by Party Maniacs of New Jersey in partnership with the Springfield Recreation Department. Public Speaking
Public Speaking classes for ages 7-14 are held on Thursdays 9/17/26-10/22/26 from 4:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $150 per child. Learn self confidence, self esteem, valuable communication skills, proper eye contact and body language, how to captivate an audience, and the skills to plan and prepare a speech.
Reading Enrichment
These small-group classes (4 children max) for K-2nd graders are held on Tuesdays 9/22/26-10/27/26 (6 weeks) and Wednesdays 9/30/26-10/28/26 (5 weeks) from 4:30-5:30 pm. The cost per child is $225 for Tuesdays and $190 for Wednesdays. Taught by a certified teacher, children will learn phonics, sight words, and reading fluency. Reading will be encouraged beyond simple words. Independent reading skills will be promoted.
Acting
Acting classes are open to children ages 9-14. The weekly classes are held on Fridays 9/18/26-11/13/26 (skip 11/6/26) from 4:00-5:00 pm. The cost is $225 per child. Learn acting techniques, play acting games to better your skills, learn theater terms, prepare a final talent showcase, and more!
Improv
New Improv classes are open to children ages 9-15. The weekly classes are held on Fridays 9/18/26-11/13/26 (skip 11/6/26) from 5:30-6:30 pm. The cost is $225 per child. Learn improv techniques, play improv games to better your skills, learn comedy terms, match emotion and humor to movement, prepare a final performance, and more!
Balloon Sculpting
New Balloon Sculpting classes are offered to children ages 9-14, as well as their parents, on four Thursdays 9/24/26-10/15/26 from 5:30-6:30 pm. The cost is $120 per person, and includes professional instruction, one pump, and 100 balloons. Have fun and learn an exciting new skill!
