A morning well spent cooking, learning, and connecting! 🌱

Today, members of our board and advisory team joined the SIU Department of Culinary Medicine for a hands-on breakfast experience in their teaching kitchen. With the guidance of Dr. Stacy Sattovia and Chef Nicole Swartz, we learned how practical cooking skills and nutrition education help build healthier communities.

Experiences like this help bring our vision of a community-centered market and gathering space to life - and remind us how much we can learn through partnership and collaboration.

We had a great time connecting with the community at the Earth Awareness Fair at Union Square Park this weekend.

Thanks to everyone who stopped by the Rooted in Springfield table to talk food access, plant seeds, and learn ways we can all help care for our environment.

Earth Day is a good reminder that small actions add up. 🌎🌱

If you’re looking for a simple way to celebrate, start with our Earth Day to-do list — plant something, spend time outside, support community gardens, and shop local.

Today, when you shop at Simply Fair, 10% of all purchases will be donated to Rooted in Springfield to help grow community gardens, fresh food access, and neighborhood green spaces right here in Springfield.

It’s an easy way to support the planet and your community at the same time.
