🎖️ Congratulations on Your Retirement, Chief Adam Yates! 🎖️

After 27 years of dedicated service to the City of Quincy, Chief Adam Yates has retired from the Quincy Police Department.

A Quincy native, Chief Yates began his life of service with four years of active duty in the United States Marine Corps before joining QPD in 1999. Throughout his career, he served in numerous roles, including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Street Crimes Unit, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, Administrative Services Sergeant, Deputy Chief, and ultimately Chief of Police in June 2022.

Chief Yates also dedicated countless hours to specialized assignments, serving as a fi****ms and tactics instructor, Honor Guard member, longtime member of the Emergency Response Team, and Commander of the department’s Crisis Response Unit.

Throughout every assignment and every rank, Chief Yates led with dedication, professionalism, and an unwavering commitment to the people of Quincy and the officers he served alongside.

Chief Yates, thank you for 27 years of leadership, sacrifice, and service to QPD and our community. Your impact on this department will continue long after your final day in uniform.

Congratulations on a well-earned retirement, Chief Yates. We wish you health, happiness, and many great years ahead!

Another department joins the commitment to the 10 Shared Principles 🤝

Today, the Forest View Police Department took an important step toward strengthening trust, communication, and collaboration between law enforcement and the communities they serve by signing the NAACP Illinois Chapter – Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police 10 Shared Principles.

The Shared Principles represent a commitment to meaningful dialogue, mutual respect and continued partnership between law enforcement and the NAACP. By signing, Forest View PD joins agencies across Illinois working to build stronger relationships and promote understanding between police departments and the communities they serve.
