Sorry about all the rain, this might be our fault.

Last Friday we ordered several watercraft to expand our fleet. We ordered jet skis, submersible vehicles, hovercrafts and a yacht so we can respond in all elements while looking magnificently awesome.

They were delivered on Monday and then of course torrential rainfall today. It's like the guy that buys a new snow blower and the next day is snows 12". We are that guy.

If you actually believed that we ordered a fleet of watercraft on Friday and it was delivered on Monday, we are glad you are still reading this far...because this is not true.

We don't have special watercraft to navigate high waters and we are guessing you don't either, so don't try to drive through high water.

The rain is stopping soon and the water will recede but until it does please drive safe.

We will be there if you need us, just might be a bit wet today ⛈️💙

Now is the perfect time to look ahead to your Fourth of July traffic enforcement campaign! 🚗🚓

June 15, 2026 – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Aurora Police Department Begins Fourth of July Traffic Safety Campaign

Aurora, Illinois — The Aurora Police Department is launching a Fourth of July traffic enforcement campaign focused on identifying and removing impaired and unbuckled drivers from the road. The safety effort runs from June 19 through July 6 and spans three summer weekends surrounding Independence Day.

“We’re asking all of our residents and visitors to celebrate Independence Day safely,” said Aurora Police Chief Matt Thomas. “It’s simple: If you’re driving, don’t drink or use cannabis or other impairing substances. Our officers will be working diligently to keep impaired drivers off the road and ensure everyone is buckled up.”

The Aurora Police Department will join the Illinois State Police and more than 200 local police and sheriff’s departments as part of this statewide effort.

To help keep the roads safe, plan ahead and follow these tips:

• Designate a sober driver and give them your keys before you go out.
• Never drive impaired—whether under the influence of alcohol, cannabis, or other drugs. Use a taxi, public transportation, rideshare, or call a sober friend or family member.
• Report suspected impaired drivers by pulling over safely and dialing 911.
• Buckle up—every seat, every time. It’s the law and your best defense against impaired drivers.

The “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over,” “Drive High Get a DUI,” and “Click It or Ticket” campaigns are supported by federal traffic safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation. These enforcement efforts are also promoted through IDOT’s It’s Not a Game media campaign, which highlights the serious consequences of impaired and unsafe driving.

June 24 is Emergency Notification System (ENS) Sign Awareness Day. In observance, ICC Police and Illinois Operation Lifesaver are highlighting the importance of blue and white signs posted at rail crossings across the country.

Illinois has the second largest rail system of any state in the US with approximately 14,553 rail crossings and bridges statewide. If your vehicle is stalled on rail tracks, get out immediately and move away from the tracks. Once safely off the tracks, look for the blue and white ENS sign posted near the crossing, call the number listed, and share the crossing ID number to help the railroad know your exact location. If you can’t spot the sign – call 911.

Use the blue and white signs to report other non-emergency safety issues at specific locations, such as malfunctioning warning gates and signals. Visit Illinois Operation Lifesaver for more rail safety tips ➡ https://oli.org/site/il/about-il-ol
