Thomas Pearson Payne and his daughter Nettie Chilton standing by the well at Thomas's farm, 1920s. For last 30 years of his life, Thomas owned a farm and general store at the intersection of Catharpin and Piney Branch roads. He previously lived at the McCoull farm at the Bloody Angle Battlefield. Nettie was the mother of Merle Strickler, long-time teacher at Spotsylvania High School.

Pittsburgh Street PA 51 at Oliver Uniontown . This is just passed US 119. This is the approximate location of the lower picture taken around 1950. The streetcar tracks ran to the right of the road and made its way onto Bitner. this is a difficult picture to line up today
