The last time we posted, 11 people had signed up to volunteer. Today, we're up to 16!

We're looking for 14 more people to join our 30-person Juneteenth volunteer team and help bring this year's celebration to life.

A few reminders:

đź“Ł You do not need to volunteer all day. A 2-hour minimum commitment can make a huge difference.
đź“Ł Volunteer shifts are available throughout the day, from 10:30 AM to 6:00 PM.
đź“Ł Volunteer orientation will take place on June 10, with both morning and evening options available.

Last year, volunteers helped create a Juneteenth celebration that brought together 500+ community members in Springfield.

This year, 11 people have already joined our 30-person Juneteenth volunteer team, and we’re looking for 19 more people to help bring this year’s celebration to life.

You do not need to volunteer all day. A 2-hour minimum commitment can make a huge difference.

Volunteer orientation will take place on June 10 with both morning and evening options available.

Volunteer roles include:
- setup and cleanup
- food support and runners
- kids activities
- community engagement activities
- survey collection

Springfield has ranked as the nation’s #1 asthma capital multiple times, yet many breathing issues continue to be treated as “normal” in everyday life.

TODAY, local organizations, advocates, and community members are coming together for Springfield’s Clean Air Resource Fair to talk about asthma, air quality, environmental health, and the resources available in our community.

Come ask questions, explore interactive tables, hear from speakers, enjoy free food, and enter raffles for air purifiers and DIY air cleaners.

Some breathing issues become so normalized that people stop questioning them.

Waking up coughing at night. Feeling chest tightness. Constant throat irritation. Carrying cough drops everywhere. Saying “it’s probably just allergies.”

Join us for TOMORROW’s Springfield Clean Air Resource Fair to ask questions, learn more about asthma and air quality, and explore community resources as we work toward healthier air together.

Sometimes the symptoms we normalize every day can also be connected to breathing and air quality issues.

Springfield, MA has ranked as the nation’s #1 asthma capital multiple times by the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America (AAFA).

Join us this World Asthma Day for Springfield’s Clean Air Resource Fair featuring local speakers, asthma support services, air quality initiatives, free food, and raffles for air purifiers.
