Nutrition Rx staff hosted an on-site table at the Wales Community Pantry on August 25.

Shoppers had the opportunity to sample fruit and vegetable smoothies and enter a raffle to win a blender. Shoppers also received a recipe to try at home and information about the benefits of fruits and vegetables.

Registered Dietitians, Adele Mayer and Jeanette Schaible were available to discuss healthy nutrition and answer questions.

HCHIP/DTA Training on DTA Connect - August 20th

Register now to join the Hampden CHIP Network for a virtual workshop on how to access SNAP accounts through DTA Connect.

This workshop will be useful for CHWs, librarians, and service providers whose clients use SNAP - to ensure that they don't lose benefits due to the paperwork requirements and more frequent eligibility updates required since the BBB went into effect.

Empowering community members to access their own data also helps when they can't get through to the DTA by phone. The workshop will share information on DTA partners who provide assistance to residents of Hampden County.
