This is why our deputies enjoy working here in Greene County:

During a recent call in a neighborhood, Deputy Thomas noticed an excited young boy watching from nearby; curious, smiling, and eager to learn more about the Sheriff’s Office and the deputies serving his community. 👮‍♀️

Once the incident was resolved, Deputy Thomas gathered her squad, and together they stopped by the boy’s home for a surprise visit. They spent time talking with him, showing him the patrol cars, and giving him a firsthand look at the team he’d been so enthusiastic about.

His parents shared that he’s currently undergoing medical treatment for serious health concerns — and that this moment of attention, care, and connection brightened his day in a great way.

This is the job — showing up for people when it matters most. 💛

🚓 No Sunday‑Funday for These Two 🚓

Greene County Detectives executed two search warrants simultaneously on Sunday after a lengthy and intensive investigation, with critical assistance from our SWAT team.

During these operations, detectives seized around 4 pounds of methamphetamine and approximately $20,000 in cash. Both individuals were taken into custody and remain in the Greene County Jail.

Illicit narcotics drive violence, fuel addiction, and endanger families across our community.

We remain fully committed to confronting this threat head‑on. The narcotics recovered carries an estimated street value of $40,000–$45,000, based on current pricing data. Removing this quantity of drugs from circulation eliminates tens of thousands of potential individual uses - a decisive step in protecting Greene County.

This is the work that keeps our neighborhoods safer, and our team will continue delivering results.

A message of support for two of our own employees. 💙

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office wants to recognize Deputy James Weaver and Detention Officer Jessika Weaver for their strength and resilience over the past ten months. James has faced a rare and aggressive cancer that brought life-changing challenges, difficult treatments, and moments of deep uncertainty for their family.

Throughout this journey, James showed incredible determination, and Jessika continued to serve our agency and support their family. Their courage represents the very best of what it means to be part of our law enforcement family.

We are grateful that James is now in recovery, and we are proud to support both him and Jessika as they move forward. The Weaver family has been surrounded by care from their coworkers, friends, and community; a reminder that none of us stand alone in difficult times.

When Greene County Deputy James Weaver pinned his badge back on August 21, it marked the end of 10 months of dealing with a rare cancer that he and his wife once feared he wouldn’t survive.

Our Fugitive Apprehension Unit, along with members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol , Christian County Sheriff's Office , and the Branson Police Department – in conjunction with Operation Relentless Pursuit – successfully took Kyle Cain into custody recently on an outstanding warrant (2631‑CR03905) involving multiple class A‑level and unclassified felony charges, including offenses involving fi****ms and several victims. Cain had been deliberately residing next to one of the victims, heightening safety concerns.

The deliberate, methodical approach these teams use during high‑risk operations helps ensure the safest outcome when apprehending individuals known to exhibit violent tendencies. This coordinated effort reflects the commitment to protecting our community.

Sheriff Jason Johnson remarked: “I’m incredibly proud of the professionalism and dedication of our Fugitive Apprehension Unit and Operation Relentless Pursuit partners. Their careful planning and decisive action led to the safe arrest of a dangerous offender, upholding the highest standards of service to our community.”

• This is FALSE

• We do not handle ankle monitor billing or placement
• Any request for money, gift cards, or other services = a scam

🚫 If You Get This Call:
• Hang up
• Do not pay
• Report it to law enforcement

Greene County Sheriff’s Office Arrests Protestors for Trespassing After Sit-In:

On August 26, 2026, several individuals entered the main lobby of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office and stated they were conducting a “sit-in” protest. They remained in the lobby for several hours without incident and were allowed to stay during normal business hours, when the area is open to the public.

After business hours, the lobby becomes a secure area closed to the public. Deputies issued multiple verbal warnings directing the individuals to leave or face arrest. When they refused, all six protesters were arrested for trespassing.

Sheriff Jason Johnson stated: “As Sheriff, I am responsible for maintaining law and order while protecting the First Amendment right to peacefully assemble. I am equally responsible for enforcing state law. In this case, we allowed peaceful protest until it became unlawful, and then we enforced the law.”

The Greene County Sheriff’s Office provides clear guidelines for lawful assembly on its campus and does not interfere with peaceful protests that remain lawful.

Sheriff K9 pool takeover!! 🐾💦

Our Sheriff’s Office K9s enjoyed a well‑deserved pool day! These hard‑working pups train year‑round to keep our community safe, so seeing them unwind and have some fun is always a treat. We were also joined by our friends from the Ozark Police K9 Unit — we train with area teams regularly, so it’s only fitting they joined in on the splash day, too!

Much appreciation to the Willard Parks Aquatic Center for allowing us to use their pool.

Oh, and for all you On Patrol: Live viewers — keep an eye out for our K9 teams and more this Friday and Saturday (08/21/26 - 08/22/26) night during On Patrol: Live’s Dog Days of Summer special! 🐶📺

Teamwork makes the dream of safer communities work! 💪 We’re proud to be in a state that takes proactive steps to reduce violent crime and protect the people we serve. Collaboration like this is how real progress happens!

Over the last 18 months, Operation Relentless Pursuit officers have not only honed the skills used to locate wanted felons - monitoring their online activity, contacts with known associates, surveillance, etc., they've sharpened their proficiency in the takedown - carefully planning arrests to account for safety to the public, officers and the fugitive. Surprise and overwhelming force can be key in this area. Last week's arrests included breaching a door to a residence, deployment of the Greene County Sheriff's Office's SWAT team (thank you!) and arrests at a relative's home and as subject picked up his final paycheck from an employer. Nice work, Missouri State Highway Patrol Missouri Sheriffs' Association!
