The next Family Exclusive Member Day is Sunday, June 14. Join Lead Educator Sara to create enrichment for our parrots and watch as they interact with the creations you make! 🦜🧩

Parrots are highly intelligent and social creatures requiring plenty of enrichment to keep them both mentally and physically active and to reduce boredom. Enrichment for our macaws often includes problem solving to encourage healthy cognitive functioning, like Harvey in this video, one of our green-winged macaws, searching for his treats inside newspaper hanging in a feeder.

To register for this behind-the-scenes activity, visit www.forestparkzoo.org/exclusive. Not yet a Family Exclusive Member? Head to the link to become one today or email [email protected] to upgrade an existing membership.

Today for we're highlighting some of our native species living at The Zoo and in your own backyard who contribute to the environment every day! 🌳☀️🌷

From coyotes to bobcats, turtles to raccoons, species of all shapes and sizes regulate populations of insects, fish, and mammals to prevent overgrazing. And eco-engineers like beavers help form wetlands and improve water quality with their dams.

The Zoo is proud to be a home for a number of native species that cannot survive on their own due to factors like permanent injuries and disabilities. We hope you'll stop by and say hello to our native wildlife friends this summer! 🐾

Despite Saturday’s rain and brisk temperatures, we had another fun and successful Wine Safari! Thank you to our guests who bundled up to enjoy a day of wine and encounters to raise money in support of our mission. 🐾 🍷

And a huge thank you to our amazing volunteers from MGM Springfield who poured the wine, the culinary students at Lower Pioneer Valley CTEC who made the desserts, our lovely board member Beth Ginter-Healy who put together the incredible grazing table and of course to our sponsors Renewal by Andersen, Hogan Technology and Teddy Bear Pools & Spas.

Next up: Brew at The Zoo 2026 😎
