Health Care Council of Illinois - HCCI

Health Care Council of Illinois - HCCI The Health Care Council of Illinois (HCCI) is the strong, leading voice for nursing home communities across the state.

HCCI strives to bridge the divide between state policy makers and nursing home communities through education and advocacy. Illinois must rein in state spending to solve our financial crisis, but we must protect funding for nursing homes. Holding the line will ensure:

Residents have quality care, food and home-like surroundings. Staff have fair wages and a good work environment. Families can depend on nursing homes to care for their loved ones.

At HCCI, we're always interested in conversations that explore new ways to enhance quality of life for residents. In a recent Skilled Nursing News article, Presbyterian Living COO Peter van Kalkeren discusses reimagining traditional skilled nursing environments to feel less institutional and more like home.

As providers continue to advance person-centered care, innovation in design, operations, and resident experience remains an important part of shaping the future of senior care.

A skilled nursing administrator wears many hats. Leader. Advocate. Mentor. Problem Solver. Community Partner. Resident Champion. Behind the scenes, administrators help guide teams, support residents and families, navigate challenges, and ensure quality care remains at the center of every decision.

It's more than a job. It's a commitment to the people who call our communities home. 🏡

Meaningful change often starts with a single voice being heard. Every conversation with a policymaker, every opportunity to share experiences from the front lines of care, and every story from residents, families, and caregivers helps strengthen the future of senior care in Illinois.

That's the power of advocacy.

Through education, advocacy, and support, we're helping providers navigate challenges, elevate care, and make a difference for residents every day. 💙
