⭐️JURY FAQs⭐️

1. Do I need to report on January 1, 2026?
NO. This date is simply the beginning of your term as a juror.

2. I just received my form, but it is over five-day period to submit it. Am I in trouble?
No. Complete the form and submit it to our office at your earliest convenience.

3. How do I submit my juror qualification form?
You may return the form in one of three ways:
•Mail your form to Washington County Circuit Clerk’s Office.
•In-person. Our office is open 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday thru Friday.
•Drop Box. To the right of the Justice Center’s main entrance, you will find a black drop-box marked for juror forms.

4. I need to be excused from Jury Duty; do I still need to submit my qualification form?
Yes, the state requires ALL forms be submitted and accounted for, whether a person plans to serve or not. You will continue to receive correspondence until a form is submitted.

5. I am unable to serve on jury and need to be excused. Where do I begin?
Complete the front of your qualification form. On page two, you will also need to complete Section D. It is recommended that you also provide a written statement, from you and/or your physician, as to why you are unable to serve.

6. Who determines if I am excused from jury duty?
Only a Circuit Court Judge can make the determination if the excuse meets the legal requirements to be granted.

7. How will I know if I am excused or not?
After you submit your form and before the term of service begins, you will receive a letter in the mail detailing if the judge has granted your request for excusal.

8. I’m 70 or older. Can I be excused from jury duty?
Yes. Complete the top portion of your form and then check #9 in Section A. This will excuse you from jury service permanently.

The state requires that ALL juror forms are accounted for. You are permitted to fill this form out on behalf of someone else. This will prevent you from receiving any future correspondence. Please complete Section C of the qualification form and sign on that person’s behalf.

10. I have a trip, appointments or other commitments planned for 2026. What do I do?
Inform our office ASAP. We will block you from the selection pool on those days. Please note, the Judge may require you to provide proof in-advance.
