Since joining FCPS Food & Nutrition Services in May 2026, Madai has been a wonderful addition to the team! She brings a positive attitude, professionalism, and a willingness to jump in wherever help is needed. 🙌

With 15 years of experience at Bright Horizons Child Care as an assistant teacher, along with her previous cooking experience, Madai brings valuable skills and a passion for helping others to the FNS team.

📚 Eagles, let's READ! 🦅

To promote reading and literacy, our Online Read-A-Fun Fundraiser is underway now through Friday, November 13. It's a fun way to support SEES and encourage a love of reading at the same time!

How it works:
✅ Watch for instructions coming home with your student
✅ Set up your student's secure profile at www.readafun.com
✅ Invite sponsors, like grandparents, aunts, uncles and family friends, to cheer on your reader
✅ Your student reads whatever they love and logs their minutes

🏆 More prizes to work toward:
⭐ SOAR Prize: Grade levels with 10 students signed up in every class by Monday, Oct 19 earn a dance party!
🍪 Class Prize: The class with the most minutes gets a cookie party, and their teacher receives a $100 classroom mini grant
🎉 Whole School Prize: $2,500 = PJ & stuffy day | $3,500 = ice cream party for everyone at lunch!

💛 Prefer to give offline? Cash or checks made out to SEES PTA can be sent in and will count toward our school-wide goal.

SEES Readers’ Theater Club is off to a great start with more than 70 students from grades 3-6 taking part each week! 📚Our own Mr. Tenenbaum brought this program to life with his passion for helping all students love reading. 🎭He believes it’s about more than reading lines aloud. As students bring stories to life, they explore how scripts are structured while strengthening phonics, fluency, and reading comprehension. Performing also helps students read with expression, understand characters and events, and think more deeply about what they read.

SEES Field Day was a blast! Thank to all the volunteers that helped make the day fun for our students. Special shoutout to Mr. Donnelly and Mr. Dexter, who organized everything.

SEES Rocket Day! Many of our classes researched and constructed a rocket, that was then got set off in front of the entire school! 🚀🚀

SEES has been a busy place this past week! Thank you to all who came out and enjoyed Curriculum Night. Our Eagles were so excited to be able to take home games and activities that support their learning, with a bonus of visiting the Book Fair!
