Democrats: Listen up! Polls are showing more and more decisively that Biden will lose to Trump a year from now. But there is still time for Biden to step aside and allow a Democratic primary to choose a nominee who can beat Trump. Help us run ads in Washington DC to convince Biden it's time to step aside and allow a Democratic primary.

Polls are not always reliable a year ahead of elections. But Democrats need to ask: what could possibly change in the next year that will turn this around? It may not be fair, but voters are blaming Biden for high prices of every day goods, skyrocketing house prices and rents, high interest rates, and the return of student debt payments. They're also worried about Biden leading the country into his mid 80s when the U.S. is facing complex threats all over the world and within our own borders.

None of that is going to change before November. Yes inflation is down to 3.2%, but prices are still high. People don't get this, but when inflation goes down, prices are still going up, just more slowly. Prices will not go back down. In fact, the Federal Reserve and the entire federal government will do everything in their power to prevent prices from going down because deflation can be even more devastating to an economy than inflation (because everyone stops buying, waiting for lower prices).

Polls show that Biden is weakest in swing states. Not only is he losing in many polls in the popular national vote, but he is losing even worse in the handful of swing states that gave Trump his 2016 electoral college victory.

Here's the good news: The Democratic party has several strong and popular leaders in these swing states including Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro. Voters chose wisely in the 2020 Democratic primary, and picked the candidate best able to defeat Trump given the choices. They will do the same in 2024 if given the chance.

We've made a 30 second TV ad asking Biden to step aside and allow a primary. We believe that running this ad would earn media attention, nudging people close to Biden an excuse to lay out the facts and show him that his legacy will be ruined unless he doesn't step aside now.

We still have a couple of months for a normal primary to get under way. After that, there will still be opportunities -- for example, a brokered convention, but a normal primary is the best mechanism for deciding who has the best chance of beating Trump.

We're launching a new campaign today that we hope you'll consider supporting. You’ve probably seen the news about the NYTimes/Siena poll showing that Biden is losing badly in almost every battleground state that he absolutely must win to retain the White House next November.

President Biden has accomplished incredible things in his presidency. And that will be his legacy — if he steps aside. Otherwise, he will go down in history as the president whose selfishness allowed Trump to complete the destruction of American democracy. That’s why it’s time to say, “Thanks Joe, but now it’s time to go.”
