🧪🥼This week in science: Team Zenith!

Our scholars measured mass, measured drop height, created and measured craters, compared the effects of different masses, and collected their own data. Then they used what they actually observed to help make a claim and explain their reasoning. 🥽🔬

📢 Transportation Route Update – Powell Street Closure📢

Powell Street is scheduled to **close on Monday, August 31st**. Due to this closure, we will need to make adjustments to certain bus routes and stops.

📍 Bus Stop Changes:

Powell & Fink ➡️ will move to Crutcher & Fink
Dodson & Velma ➡️ will remain the same
*Powell & Sister ➡️ will remain the same

🚌 Bus Route Affected: Bus 185

Please make note of the new stop location and plan accordingly.
📲 Transportation will also be sending notifications to families affected by these route changes.

Building Conservation Leaders Through Exploration!

J.O. Kelly Middle School students are continuing their journey toward becoming a School of Conservation Leadership by learning about one of Arkansas’s unique natural resources—caves!

After studying how Arkansas caves form, students took their learning beyond the classroom by navigating a cave crawl box and inflatable cave. This hands-on experience helped students connect concepts like limestone, groundwater, and karst to the incredible environments found right here in Arkansas.

A huge thank you to Brett Rankin with Arkansas Game and Fish for providing this experience and helping our students explore, understand, and appreciate Arkansas’s natural resources.
