The National Weather Service issued a winter storm watch beginning Saturday morning and continuing through Monday. They predict a large, long-duration storm bringing widespread snow, sleet, and freezing temperatures. Currently, snow accumulations are between six and ten inches.

Since safety has no quitting time, our Road Maintenance crews will be on the road clearing snow. We ask that, for your safety and ours, PLEASE MOVE ALL OBSTACLES OFF THE ROAD. Park cars in driveways and move portable basketball hoops, trash cans, and other items away from the street.

With snow accumulation and sub-zero temperatures forecast, it is better to avoid travel if possible.

Recycling Christmas lights is a crucial step towards a more sustainable holiday season, and it's essential to understand why this seemingly small act can have a significant impact.

First, Christmas lights contain hazardous materials that can harm the environment if they end up in landfills.

Secondly, recycling helps conserve valuable natural resources like copper, glass, and plastic, according to GreenCitizen.

Finally, it's essential to understand that Christmas lights should not be placed in regular curbside recycling bins. Their design, with wires and bulbs, can tangle in sorting machinery at recycling facilities, leading to equipment malfunctions and safety hazards for workers.
