Casa de Oro Library

The County of San Diego commissioned six artists to create site-specific artworks for the Casa de Oro Library. Each piece is inspired by local stories and the surrounding landscape.

We gathered input about public art options for the library at meetings and through a survey. Artists proposed initial works and then refined them for the space.

The Libby app team is saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Dolly was a beloved artist and cultural icon, but perhaps just as importantly, she was a lifelong champion of literacy and the belief that everyone deserves access to books. Through the Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, she helped put books into the hands of children in communities across the globe and inspired generations of young readers to discover the joy of reading.

Today, we’re taking a quiet moment to read in Dolly’s memory and to celebrate the incredible legacy she leaves behind.
