Today is the 5th year anniversary of the passing of our brother Jared Lloyd.

Five years have passed, but your courage, sacrifice, and dedication are never forgotten. You answered the call without hesitation, giving your all to protect others, and that legacy continues to inspire us every day.

Today, we remember not only the hero you were, but the person you were-your strength, your kindness, and your unwavering commitment to your community. Your absence is still deeply felt, but your impact lives on in every life you touched.

We honor you, we remember you, and we will never forget you.

It’s been a very busy 24 hours for the Columbian Engine company, as well as the rest of the Spring Valley Fire Department.

As heavy storms started in the afternoon, lasting through the night 17-3, 17-Tanker and 17-1750 both fully staffed responded to various calls into the night including flooding conditions and multiple water rescues. Great job by all including multiple mutual aid companies in efforts to keep the citizens of Spring Valley safe.

Early this morning at 7:18am Spring Valley Fire Department along with Hillcrest Fire Department, Monsey Fire Department, and South Spring Valley Fire Department were dispatched to a reported structure fire at 29 Fanley ave. 17–1 and 17-3 Kenny Conjura, shortly after arrived on scene confirming the working fire. 17-Tanker arrived on scene minutes after with a crew of 1st Lieutenant Michael Streim, 2nd Lieutenant Stevie White, FF Nathan Steiner, FF James Barrera, FF Cesar Gomez, and FF Austin Conjura. The crew stretched a 1 3/4 preconnected line to the 3 side of the building making an aggressive interior attack, quickly extinguishing the fire. A job well done by all!

As always thankyou to all of our mutual aid companies!

On Sunday March 30th 2025, the Spring Valley Fire Dept partnered with NY- Truck Work Fire tactics to be able to provide a training day for Firefighters. The Spring Valley Fallen Firefighters foundation held their 2nd annual training day in honor of Lt. Jared Lloyd. Durning this training firefighters went through a lot of different scenarios to help prepare them for future situations they may find themselves in.

We would like to thank Kirk and New York Truck Work Fire Tactics crew who help put together this amazing event. We would also like to thank all the Sponsors that sponsored this event, the firefighters who took this training class and used it to the best of their abilities. Also would like to thank all the people behind the scenes that helped make this training day the best it could be.
