The Hillcrest Fire Company is one of 26 all Volunteer Fire Departments in Rockland County, NY. Formed in 1915, we run 800-1000 calls a year protecting a 36 square mile district!

Congratulations to Hillcrest’s three newest drivers: Kevin Arevalo, Chris Armida, and Rob Hoyt! Over the past several months, the three trainees spent countless hours learning how to drive and pump our apparatus and their hard work paid off at today’s final exam which consisted of an EVOC road test and simulated structure fire scenarios.

Yesterday evening, the Hillcrest Fire Company had the honor of standing by at Eugene Levy Park for the annual lighting of the Memorial Day Watchfires.

Hillcrest Fire Company was proud to work alongside the Haverstraw Fire Department to give local high school students from the North Rockland Youth Police Academy a hands-on look at what it means to be a firefighter.

The students had the opportunity to open fire hydrants, climb ladders, and experience a simulated full response to a building fire. It was a great day of learning, teamwork, and showing the next generation what the fire service is all about.

Last weekend, the Hillcrest Fire Company continued a time honored tradition of serving as the Color Guard for the Rockland County Firefighters Pipes & Drums at the Pearl River St. Patrick’s Day Parade!

On this day 5 years ago, Rockland County lost a hero and we lost a dear friend. Spring Valley Firefighter Jared Lloyd made the ultimate sacrifice while saving lives at the Evergreen Home for Adults fire. Today, we take the time to not only honor his legacy, but celebrate the life of an amazing man. Rest easy Jared. Keep looking after us.

Join the Hillcrest Fire Company for a night of Bingo for high end prizes, tricky trays, and so much more! The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 18th and doors open at 5:30 PM. Yesterday after maintenance, firefighters utilized our new breakable window prop to train on V.E.I.S. Firefighters were placed into teams and tasked with setting up a ladder to the bailout room, “venting” the window, and entering the room to conduct a search while blacked out.

Yesterday evening, the Hillcrest Fire Company was dispatched to a car fire in the parking lot of the Sri Ranganatha Temple in Ladentown. The crew from 6-Squad made quick work of the blaze.
