Join us on Sept 26th for our Bioblitz
Social media usually keeps us on our screens and away from each other. iNaturalist was built to do the opposite! We're a free, nonprofit-run platform that brings you online just long enough to get you offline and reconnecting with the nature and people around you.
From September 18–28, we're hosting iNat Together, a global push to get people outside and looking at their local nature together. We'd love for you to join us!
You don't need to know anything about nature to take part — it's all about getting to know your nearby plants and animals a little better than you did before, and you don't have to go far. Right where you are is great, even in the middle of a big city.
Want some company? Look for an iNat Together event near you, hosted by volunteer iNaturalist Ambassadors around the world! You can also grab a friend and go explore around wherever you already are. Either way, get outside together and celebrate your human AND non-human neighbors. 🪲🐌🌿
How you can join:
1. Download the iNaturalist app (100% free) and make an account.
2. Bring someone outside! Find an ambassador-hosted event near you, or join the open project and explore where you already are.
3. Take photos or record sounds of the wild things around you.
4. Share them on iNaturalist for ID suggestions from the community — plus, you'll be helping real science and conservation!
