🚨 Did you know your vehicle may already have auto-crash detection? If so, please turn OFF iOS Auto-Crash Detection on your phone! 🚗📱

Why? Disabling duplicate crash alerts helps prevent false emergency calls and keeps our emergency lines clear for real emergencies. Every second counts when lives are on the line!

🔧 How to turn it off:
1️⃣ Open Settings
2️⃣ Tap Emergency SOS
3️⃣ Scroll to Auto-Crash Detection
4️⃣ Turn Auto-Crash Detection OFF

A small action from you makes a BIG difference for our community. Thank you for helping us keep emergency response fast and effective! ❤️🚒

Please join us in congratulating Captain Scottie Purcell on his new role within the Department's Training Division.

After many years of dedicated service in Operations as a Captain, Scottie is transitioning into a position focused on training and professional development for our personnel. Working alongside Division Chief Mike Pinkerton, he will help coordinate and deliver training programs while also serving in a safety role during large-scale incidents.

Captain Purcell's experience, leadership, and commitment to the department have earned the respect of his peers throughout his career. We are excited to see him bring those qualities to the Training Division and continue making a positive impact on our organization.

*Update* May 29, 2026 - Following the examination of evidence and through community tips, the SHFD Fire Investigation Unit was able to identity a juvenile that was responsible for the outside fire. The juvenile was referred to our Juvenile Fire Setter Specialist and with assistance of the parents, conducted a focused counseling session. This closes the investigation in a positive manner through education and mentoring.

On May 21st the SHFD Fire Investigation Unit was called out to investigate an illegal burn that had occurred on city property located at the end of Derryberry Lane. Evidence was found which confirms an intentionally set fire. Should you have any information about this fire, or have seen suspicious behavior around the location of the fire, please contact Assistant Fire Marshal Filson at [email protected] or you can anonymously submit your tip to the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017.

This week’s Employee Spotlight is on Firefighter Jack Seay!

Jack joined the Spring Hill Fire Department on July 7, 2025, and is currently assigned to Engine 61A.

From an early age, Jack knew he was interested in the fire service. While in high school, he heard about our ride-along program and signed up to learn more about the profession. During his senior year, he had the opportunity to join Maury County Fire Department through the work-based learning program, gaining valuable experience and helping further his passion for the fire service.

Jack would like to give a big thank you to his mom and dad for all of their support along the way.

When it comes to favorite meals, Jack keeps it simple and solid — a medium-rare ribeye steak with a loaded baked potato (minus the sour cream), baked beans, Caesar salad, and a sweet tea.

Over the next year, Jack’s goals are to obtain his Heavy Rescue Extrication, Swift Water, and AEMT certifications as he continues to grow in the fire service.

Something his coworkers might not know, Jack lived in three different states before the age of five.

This week, May 17th – May 23rd, 2026, we recognize and celebrate EMS Week. We want to take a moment to thank our partners at Williamson Health EMS for the outstanding care, dedication, and professionalism they provide to our citizens each and every day.

Whether responding alongside our crews on emergency scenes, providing advanced patient care, or serving our community during some of life’s most difficult moments, their commitment does not go unnoticed.

Thank you for all you do, not just during EMS Week, but every day of the year.
