If you're fishing for trout on October 18, the opening day of Fall Trout Fishing Season (or not) come join us at The Lodge of Spring Grove Pub & Eatery, 7701 Blivin Street, just across from Hatchery Park! They are holding a Meat Raffle Fundraiser for Friends of Hatchery Park starting at 3pm!

Enjoy hearty appetizers, handcrafted pizza, juicy smash burgers, crisp salads, and satisfying sandwiches while you're there!

The 2025 Illinois Fall Trout Fishing Season will open Saturday, October 18 and the IDNR will be stocking a pond at Hatchery Park. While other sites may open earlier, the gates at Hatchery Park don’t open until 7 a.m!!!

All anglers over the age of 16 must have a valid fishing license and an Inland Trout Stamp which are available at IDNR license and permit locations, including many bait shops, sporting goods stores and other retail outlets. Check the IDNR website for locations at: https://www.exploremoreil.com/agentlocator

The daily catch limit is five trout. Parking fees are waived during trout fishing season!
