Just over a week away from our annual Community Day at Ridge Fire Company! We've been getting things ready to host our community next Saturday the 12th from 1-3pm. Come out to see the apparatus, meet your local First Responders, and see live demonstrations. We can't wait to see you next Saturday at Ridge!

So it's never wise to surprise the Chief!
But we took our chances anyway last night.

President John Sly from the Chester County Fire Chief's Assoc along with area fire officers and DES staff coordinated a surprise and well deserved recognition of Chief Joel McMillan's combined 50 years of leadership between Ridge and Norco Fire Companies beginning in 1990 when he assumed the role of Fire Chief at Ridge following another impressive 30 years of leadership by Chief Linwood Kolb.

Thank you Joel for your continued dedication, leadership and mentoring to our members and community.

Garage Fire on Anderson Road

May 16, 2026

Just before 1pm , Station 62, Montgomery County Station 51 (Limerick) for the Ladder and Engine and Medic 325-2(Friendship EMs) were dispatched to the 100 block of Anderson Road for a detached garage on fire. Chief 62 quickly arrived and reported a working garage fire. This brought in additional units from Station 51, Station 64 (Norco), Montgomery County Rescue 98 (Royersford) for the cascade & manpower, along with the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office. Engine 62-1 arrived and went into service with an attack line on the fire along with wetting down the exposure. Engine 64-5 arrived and stretched a second line while Engine 62-5 supplied Engine 62-1. Crews from Station 51 and 98 assisted with overhaul. The fire was brought under control quickly. Crews remained on scene to assist with overhaul while the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office conducted their investigation. Crews were in service for approximately two hours.

Accident with Entrapment Followed by Structure Response

May 15, 2026

Just after 3pm , Station 62 along with MICU 84-2 (Goodwill EMS) were dispatched to the 900 block of Ridge Road for an accident with entrapment, reported to be a vehicle on its side. Chief 62 arrived and after surveying the area, located a two vehicle accident with confirmed entrapment on the Cadmus Road driveway of the OJR Campus. MICU 83-2 (Friendship EMS) was added to the assignment for a second patient. Rescue 62 arrived and quickly began stabilization and extrication. Engine 62-1 assisted with extrication and controlling hazards. The occupants of both vehicles were evaluated by EMS. 62 Fire Police controlled traffic around the scene with the assistance of OJR Police/Security Dept. Crews operated for about an hour. While on scene Station 62 was dispatched to a building fire upgrade in Station 63’s (Liberty) district on the Unit Block of Veterans Drive in East Vincent. Engine 62-1 remained on the scene while Rescue 62 responded to the building fire, which was quickly scaled back by 63 units. Station 62 returned to service just before 4pm.
