The Station 63 crew had fun tonight assisting on the first week back to school ice cream handout to the kids. Officer Mains of the Spring City Police Department who spear heads the project did another awesome job. Officer Mains along with Mayor Adam lead the possession followed by Alex the ice cream man and the two Fire Trucks from Station 63. We tried to cover every street in the Borough but if we missed you we will see you next time. And Alex the ice cream man made many smiles tonight from the kids and parents alike so it was a fun night. We look forward to doing it again in the future. Train strike’s car in Royersford.

At 21.56 Monday evening after returning from training the LFC was dispatched to 925 2nd Ave. in Upper Providence Township to assist on a train crash. Squad 63 with 5 personnel responded immediately after dispatch and units were advised a vehicle was struck by a train and unknown if there were occupants. At 22.04 Squad 63 advised they found the vehicle with no occupants that had exited the vehicle before hand. Traffic 63 arrived and shut down Bridge and Main Streets in Spring City Borough because the train was blocking Main Street and Arch Streets in Royersford Borough. The roadway was opened around 01.30 when the vehicle was removed and the train continued on. (Photos supplied by 63 Lieutenant Sam McCauley)

Last night for the Station 63 training night the crew took advantage of the nice weather and took water rescue Boat 63 to the river for practice. It gave the opportunity for newer members to learn the basics of the boat and gave them the chance to view the land from the water. Station 63 has two boats Boat 63 and an inflatable boat as Boat 63-1. The boats are used for water rescues in the stations local such as the Schuylkill river between Spring City and Royersford. A great night of continuous training for the 63 personnel.
