David Goosman for Berkeley BOS David is a retired USAF Officer with over 21 years in the service of his Country and now his County! Spotsylvania has been my home for over 24 years.

My wife Barbara and I have been blessed with more than 44 years of marriage, five wonderful children, and eight grandchildren (Twins on the way)—most of whom live right here in our beloved county. I proudly served our nation for 21 years as an active-duty United States Air Force officer. After retiring in 2002, I settled in Spotsylvania and continued public service—first as a Department of Defense

contractor commuting to Northern Virginia, and later for 15 years as a DoD civilian engineer at Quantico supporting the United States Marine Corps, retiring in December 2024. I’ve been honored to serve our community as Vice Chairman of the Spotsylvania Economic Development Authority, a member of the Economic Development and Tourism Committee, the Berkeley representative on the Transportation Committee, and a former Election Chief at the John J. Wright precinct. I also serve as a deacon, treasurer, and choir director at Calvary Baptist Church, where faith, family, and service guide my life. My background includes a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering and a Master’s degree in Information Technology. From leading teams in Iraq, Kosovo, and Afghanistan to serving our neighbors here at home, I bring proven leadership, experience, and a servant’s heart as I proudly serve the Berkeley District on the Spotsylvania County Board of Supervisors.

The Spotsylvania Health Department is now OPEN in its new location in the Lee Hill One Building at 10300 Spotsylvania Ave. Suite 420, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.

💧 Investing in Our Water Infrastructure

I was glad to attend the Thornburg Tank Raising today and see an important infrastructure project moving forward for our community.

The new 1-million-gallon water tank will replace the aging 250,000-gallon tank, significantly increasing storage capacity and helping the county better meet current and future water demand in the Thornburg area.

This is also part of a larger effort to strengthen our water system. A second new tank is planned near Massaponax High School, providing additional capacity and reliability for that area as well.

Projects like these may not always get a lot of attention, but investing in the infrastructure we already depend on is critical as Spotsylvania grows. We need to make sure our water, roads, schools, and public safety infrastructure can keep pace with the needs of our citizens.
