The Avenue of Flags made such a perfect entryway for The Wall That Heals, and we're thankful for our friends at Fairmount Memorial Association for the use of the flags and poles, and our partners at Veterans Community Response for putting them all up, and then taking them all down. Thank you everyone! It was just beautiful. ❤️🇺🇸💙

Who got a ride in a comfy, plush golf cart last week? We're so thankful to Pacific Golf and Turf - Retail for making it so easy for veterans to get to and from The Wall, and for all the volunteers who helped usher them back and forth. The carts were perfect and held lots of walkers, wheelchairs and the occasional pup. 🐶❤️🇺🇸 Thank you so much Russ and Sophie and the Pacific Golf & Turf Team!!

A patriotic AND air-conditioned bathroom trailer at a great deal? That's what you get when you call American On-Site Services and tell them it's for Veterans. 😊🇺🇸😊🇺🇸Angelina and Sean were so helpful and kind and we really appreciated the great support!

And when our water supply fell through just a couple of days before The Wall came? Well, some magic happened between Trevor at Central Pre-Mix, SGT Jacob King at the SV Army Recruiting Station, and a lady we don't even know but who knows everyone else, and they all came together and saved the day with this beauty of a tank from L&M Truck Sales. It couldn't have been more perfect, and we're so thankful to everyone who made that happen!

Well we've just about caught our breath after a very powerful week, and would like to take some time to thank all those who played such a big role this past week.

First off, we'd like to recognize Garco Construction. Garco was one of our first sponsors to come on board. It makes sense because CEO Tim Welsh was part of the committee that brought The Wall That Heals to the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena back in 1998. That's actually the last time it was in the City of Spokane, which is one of the reasons we decided it was time to apply for it to come back. We're so thankful Garco agreed!

Not only did they sponsor, they had 'boots on the ground' for the build and the take down, and provided the water that kept our plants alive for the week.

We're so thankful for their support!

Today brought me to tears on more than one occasion. As a volunteer at The Wall That Heals, I had the privilege of transporting individuals to and from The Wall, and hearing the many stories from each Vietnam Veteran, recounted as if they had happened yesterday, each one with a different account although equally enlightening. This experience will undoubtedly be etched into my heart and soul forever, just as the 58,281 names of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice are etched into The Wall That Heals.

Do you want to share this same sobering experience? There are still a few spots available and what a great opportunity it is to interact with Vietnam veterans!
