Dornsife Center for Community Engagement We are the Dornsife Center for Community Engagement, bringing Whitworth students, faculty, staff, and the Spokane Community together.

Vision:
The Dornsife Center supports Whitworth University in its 2021 Strategic Plan by cultivating community engagement efforts that provide safe, academically rigorous opportunities for students to explore, serve and create. Whitworth University will be recognized in 2021 not only for its quality experiential and service-based programming, but also for its active partnerships in local community

development efforts. A signature mark of a Whitworth service experience will be a deeper understanding and appreciation of human difference, the capacity to change the world, vocational discernment and an enduring commitment to honor God, follow Christ and serve humanity. With just and sustainable living as the target, the CS-LCE will create positive impact in the areas of social justice, community growth and development, and stewardship of the earth.

Don't miss this opportunity to mentor a local high school student and change their life!

Our BELIEF Conference is approaching on February 28th - March 1st, where we bring local high school students to Whitworth's campus to show them all their options after graduation. We need Whitworth students (YOU!) to come alongside these students as a friend, mentor, and host during the conference! 💙

Support our local middle schoolers though our Yasuhara Middle School NEEDS DRIVE!

Donate personal care items such as chapstick, deodorant, soaps, toothbrushes, toothpaste, feminine hygiene products, etc. to the “Needs Drive” boxes found around campus or in the Dornsife office (Wey 105).

This drive will run till November 8th, start gathering donations today!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who joined us for our Jan Term Break Impact Trip!

Students got the opportunity to engage with the Spokane community at the Homeless Connect event by helping with free clothing distribution followed by an afternoon of ice skating and exploring downtown Spokane. We are so thankful for all the resources and individuals we were able to connect with and learn from on this trip!
