If you have books to drop off and the library is full, you can just leave them on the front porch. Eventually, they will make their way to the Library when it is low or when we circulate new books in. Thanks for helping to m

Last week, someone broke the glass on a door on our LFL. It seemed very intentional since the glass seemed to be “punched in” from the outside. We’ve been very fortunate that in the last 7 years, we’ve experienced very little vandalism. I am ready to rebuild these doors with plexiglass this time instead of real glass. Please let me know your recommendations for a finish carpenter who would do a good job with this. ❤️ Thank you for your continued support. (This is an older photo for reference.)

Crazy storm in the ‘hood last night! We could hear branches popping and cracking all over Browne’s Addition. The library was spared, though!! One of the giant branches that came down landed partially on the library last night , but didn’t seem to damage it, so we dragged it further away. Power was restored this morning (thank you )! Lots of cleanup to do today, but we’re grateful everyone is warm and safe here!

This is what we woke up to this morning. Again. Second time this week that this library has been completely wiped out. This time they left 3 movies, 1 book, and a few food items. A couple days ago they left nothing at all. Yesterday evening there were 50+ books in there and household goods. We thought maybe it was an anomaly the first time. Now we know it was intentional. We will be putting up security lights soon and will not be fully restocking the library until we know it’s not being abused. This is a spot that is frequented by many in our neighborhood. It has been appreciated and taken care of by so many of you since it was established in 2014. We hope to get it up and going again for you all very soon!! ❤️❤️

A great video of Spokane from 1910.

It was a roll of film that had been tucked away for decades, when at long last it was rediscovered and taken to the local historic society in Deer Park.
