Our kindergarten students have been participating in directed drawing activities that combine creativity, writing, and learning! โœ๏ธ๐ŸŽจ During a month focused on the school character trait of creativity, students practiced using vocabulary words such as โ€œsymmetricalโ€ and โ€œrectangleโ€ while strengthening their drawing and writing skills. Students also worked hard on using capital letters, punctuation, and heart words in their writing. It has been wonderful to see their imagination and confidence grow through both art and academics.

At Indian Trail, students welcomed spring by learning about Hawaiian culture and the meaning behind making leis. ๐ŸŒบ Through creativity, conversation, and community, students discovered that leis are more than beautiful flowersโ€”they are symbols of love, friendship, celebration, respect, and connection. It was a wonderful opportunity to share culture, build community, and celebrate kindness together.

Students are building their reading, writing, and critical thinking skills while exploring history, culture, and the importance of natural resources.
Through engaging texts, discussions, and writing activities, students are learning how communities worked together and used every part of the bison for food, clothing, shelter, and tools

๐Ÿ›’๐Ÿ’ฐ Our 2nd graders were busy learning real-life math skills in the classroom! Students practiced identifying coins, counting money, and making purchases while using play food in the classroom grocery store area.
Through hands-on learning experiences, students strengthened their understanding of money, coins, addition, and problem-solving while practicing important everyday life skills. Activities like these help make math engaging, interactive, and fun for all learners!
Great job, 2nd grade mathematicians!

๐Ÿ„โ˜€๏ธ Indian Trail 4th and 5th graders enjoyed a great day at the Junior Livestock Show at the Spokane Fairgrounds! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ–
Students explored the farm-to-table process, visited a variety of animals, and experienced hands-on learning outside the classroom. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect agriculture, learning, and community while also enjoying some sunshine with classmates and staff.
We love providing students with real-world learning experiences and lasting memories! ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ’›

๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ Indian Trail Horse Course is coming up this week! ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ
Join us for one of our favorite Indian Trail traditionsโ€”a 2-mile course that starts at the school and winds through the neighborhood! Since 1987, this community event has brought together students, staff, families, and neighbors for a fun and active experience.
This event is proudly sponsored by our PTO with support from local businesses, helping make it possible year after year. One of the best parts? Seeing neighbors out in their yards cheering on participants as they pass by!
Come be part of this special tradition that supports Spokane Public Schoolsโ€™ mission of real-life, real-world (IRL) and unplugged experiences. We hope to see you there!
