The Spokane County Chaplaincy Services will provide chaplains to meet the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs of the law enforcement family and the community when needed or requested. Our chaplains bring comfort, crisis-oriented counseling, and a consoling nature to those who may be experiencing a crisis. We do not proselytize or otherwise attempt to force a particular religious faith on anyo

ne. We share our faith with those who seek or ask for spiritual counsel during these times. We provide these services to all regardless of race, religion, gender, or national origin.

Prayer from Chaplain Jaylynn:
Heavenly Father, we seek You in the middle of our unexpected circumstances, hardships, and heartbreaks, trials and tribulations. We long to find You in the darkness that seems to close in around us at times. Light up our path so we can follow You through our tribulations to the truth hidden behind the hurts. Lord, train us to be good stewards of the wisdom we earn. And Father, open our eyes to see Your unconditional love and goodness in everything around us as we navigate the difficulties of this life. Amen

Great time meeting voters and talking about the issues that affect us all. We’ll be coming to neighborhoods across Spokane! Keep an eye out for us! It was great to meet and talk to folks with many different perspectives. Also everyone we met was polite and kind. Such a great day! Thanks to my fellow candidates for great company! GRANT COUNTY SHERIFF JOE KRIETE ELECTED TO
LEADERSHIP POSITION FOR STATEWIDE LAW ENFORCMENT ORGANIZATION

(Lacey, WA) --- Grant County Sheriff Joe Kriete has been named President-elect of the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC) Board of Directors. He will then assume the role of board president in 2027, leading the statewide association and helping guide its policy, advocacy, and strategic direction.

“Sheriff Kriete is a highly respected leader across Washington, and his election by his fellow Sheriffs and Chiefs reflects the confidence they have in his leadership and judgment,” said Steve Strachan, WASPC executive director. “He has consistently stepped forward to lead, and his service comes at a critical time for public safety in our state.”

“I am honored by the trust my colleagues have placed in me,” said Sheriff Kriete. “WASPC plays a critical role in strengthening collaboration across all levels of law enforcement, and I look forward to working with leaders across the state to advance policies, share best practices, and ensure we are doing everything possible to keep our communities safe.”

Founded in 1963, WASPC represents executive and senior management personnel from law enforcement agencies throughout Washington. With more than 900 members, the association includes county sheriffs, police chiefs, as well as leadership from the Washington State Patrol, the Washington Department of Corrections, and representatives of several federal and tribal agencies.

WASPC is the only association of its kind in the nation that brings together leaders from local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement into a single organization working toward shared public safety goals. The association provides critical resources, training, and support to law enforcement agencies across the state, serving both members and non-members.
