Mather4FireCommissioner Vote Brian Mather for Fire Commissioner for Spokane County Fire District 9. It's time for a change in leadership. It is time for a change. A change in leadership.

I have chosen to run for Fire Commissioner after being asked by several Fire District 9 firefighters and staff. It's time for the Fire Commissioners to start leading instead of following. If I am elected Fire Commissioner you can count on me to do 3 things:

Listen - I will meet with various people in the Fire District to better understand what works and how things could work better. Transparency

- It’s time that we understand how things work. What is the budget and how is it broken down. How are tax payers dollars spent, and are they spent wisely and efficiently. It’s time to find out if the Chief is being a good steward of those dollars. Collaboration - I am committed to work with the local firefighters. To be a conduit of communication between Labor and Management. I will listen to ideas and needs. I am committed to being a voice on the Fire Commissioner Board.

My deepest condolences to the Traber Family and to the firefighters of SCFD9. With my candidacy for Fire Commissioner I have gotten to know many of the firefighters in this tight-knit community. I've know Cody for several years, he will be greatly missed. To those of you who serve our community and put your lives in danger every day, thank you! Your are truly hero's!

I am deeply saddened to report the LODD of E92B LT/PM Cody Traber. Cody was operating at the scene of a reported brush fire on August 26 at approximately 2200 hours when he was fatally wounded. This a very difficult time for the Traber family and our Fire 9 Family. Cody was an 18 year veteran of the District and previously served at Stevens County Fire District #1, Cheney Fire Department and the Department of Natural Resources Arcadia District. Cody leaves behind his wife, Allisyn and four young children. Please keep Cody and his family in your thoughts as we all navigate through this difficult time. We will provide more information as it becomes available.

SCFD 9 spends a lot of time fighting wildfires in our region. These Super Scooper aerial fire planes are some of the planes you see in sky helping on local wildfires. This is a really cool video giving you an inside look at them.

It's official. I am running for Fire Commissioner for Fire District 9, and I have campaign signs! After many requests from fire fighters to run I decided it was time. It's time for a change in leadership. It's time for the Fire Commissioners to start leading instead of following. When I am elected Fire Commissioner you can count on me to do 3 things:

1. Listen - I will meet with various people in the Fire District to better understand what works and how things could work better.
2. Transparency - It’s time that we understand how things work. What is the budget and how is it broken down? How are tax payers dollars spent, are they spent wisely and efficiently? It’s time to find out if the Chief is being a good steward of those dollars.
3. Collaboration - I am committed to work with the local firefighters. To be a conduit of communication between Labor and Management. I will listen to ideas and needs. I am committed to being a voice on the Fire Commissioner Board.

I will be on the ballot in November and I need your help. If you are a business owner, professional, or all around good person, I would appreciate your endorsement of my campaign. This is a non partisan position. I will add you to the list of organizations, businesses and professionals that have already endorsed me. It will be listed on our website www.mather4firecommissioner.com. (should be live in the next 2 weeks).

If you live in the fire district and would like a yard sign, please let me know. Everyone tells me the hardest part of running a campaign is asking for campaign donations. So here it goes.

If you would be willing to donate anything to my campaign I would appreciate it every dollar helps! There is a maximum of $1000 allowed for campaign donation. I would appreciate any amount to help run a successful campaign. You can message me and I will get you the info you need. You can even Venmo me a donation to -Mather-9. I need an address for any donation. For any contributions over $100 I will need your employer as well. This is required by law.

If nothing else, could you please share my social media posts? Spreading the word to the people you know especially in Fire District 9 will benefit this campaign tremendously. Their support of the campaign with a vote, donation, sign in their yard or business or business endorsement will be a critical component of this campaign.

Thank you for your support!

Brian
