We were happy to not only highlight him at our Annual Driver Appreciation Lunch, but Scott also got his name lettered above the passenger doors on his van along with a plaque. Would you like a ride to the grocery store? Transit can pick you up at home and take you to the store or food pantry of your choice. This service is FREE. Just call 287-6339 and set up an appointment for when you’d like to go. Transit offers this service Monday-Friday from 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.

FULL-TIME DRIVER POSITION AVAILABLE
Rutherford County Transit is hiring a Full-Time Driver. Position requires operating a fifteen-passenger van; CDL with passenger endorsement preferred. Duties include assisting passengers, safely operating lift-equipped vehicles for wheelchair transport, using a tablet and radio to communicate with dispatch, and providing courteous service to the public. Knowledge of county and regional geography required.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (37.5 hours/week)
Salary: $33,525 annually ($17.21/hour) with benefits
Benefits: NC Retirement System, 401(k), health, dental, and life insurance, plus vacation and sick leave.
Minimum Requirements:
• Valid NC driver’s license with excellent driving record
• Five years driving experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass drug/alcohol testing and background checks
• CDL preferred, not required
