For Immediate release:

While we had hoped to be able to produce a bigger, better event for 2014, it is simply not feasible at this time. Many thanks go out to all who have supported and participated in the festival and show in the past. Together, we made 3 of the town's largest events happen and made memories that cannot be taken away.
The future of this event is uncertain at this time but we can all be proud of 3 great years, of spreading the word about dairy goats and goat milk products, of some town upgrades, of people that we met, music that we enjoyed, drums into the night and good times.
Thank you all for the blessing of these memories. I will keep this page open and post any updates as available.

From The Spindale Dairy Goat Festival, January 8, 2013
For Immediate release:
The Spindale Dairy Goat Festival will be taking a hiatus for 2013. This necessary break will allow us to build a better foundation for the future of the festival and show. There is work to be done to strengthen the management side of this event and also to build the partnerships that will help reach the educational goals that are part of our mission statement.
This time will allow us to build a better Festival and Show, not only for 2014, but for many years to come. We are not ending! Like the bare trees of winter, we are preparing to bloom plentifully, when the time is right. 2013 is not that time.
The Spindale Dairy Goat Festival, ADGA Show and Parade will resume, as scheduled, for Armed Forces Day weekend, May 16th and 17th of 2014.
Volunteers are needed for several Fund Raising events that will be scheduled throughout the next year. For sign up, to help build the 2014 Festival, please call 828-202-5700.
We appreciate your cooperation and continued support, as we prepare and build the BEST event yet for 2014 and to lay the ground work for many years to come!

For those of you that came to the Dairy goat Festival and would like to learn more about dairy goats, there is Dairy Goat Day at Spinning Spider on Sunday June 24, 2012 from 1-6 pm.
Here's what you can expect to see:

•All the different dairy goat breeds
•Tour our cheese kitchen and milking parlor
•See the way Spinning Spider uses solar energy in their cheesemaking
•Romp with baby goats
•Milk a goat, hands on!
•Learn about housing, fencing, feeding and care of dairy goats
•Hear about services the ADGA (American Dairy Goat Association) has to offer
•Learn how to make handle milk and make cheese in the home kitchen
•See the Border Collies in action. Herding demonstrations!

Everything was so beautiful yesterday. All of the good music, the lovely dairy goats and pet goats... the thousands of smiling people... I am so grateful for Spindale - The small town with a big heart.
Thank you to everyone who came to Spindale yesterday for the Festival and Show. Thank you to the volunteers, sponsors, musicians, TheUltimate Basement, RLD Builders, Mingo Video, Round Mountain Creamery, BB&T, ADGA, NC Cooperative Extension, Farmers Friend, Oakland Feed & Seed, Marsha Park Daves, Sue Ellen Camden-Lee Robin Cook Byers, Tom Roberson, Louise Layton Farm Bureau, Spindale Drug, Barley's Pizza, Sweeps, the Town of Spindale, RS Traffic Unit and others who helped to make it happen.
